Đọc là /s/ với các danh từ số ít kết thúc bằng các âm hoặc các chữ cái: th, f, k, p , t
months, roofs, books, bus-stops, cats

Đọc là /iz/ với các danh từ số ít kết thúc bằng các các chữ cái: x, s, ss, ch, sh, z
buses, classes, toothbrushes, watches, quizzes, boxes

Đọc là /z/: với các danh từ số ít kết thúc bằng các âm hoặc các chữ cái: l, m, n, v, g, d, ŋ và
các nguyên âm: u, e, o, a, i
