Behind Bars

RULE SHEET: Round 1

1. Welcome to the preliminary round of Behind Bars. In this round


participants are provided with the opportunity to invest in their very
own private prison. The catch is to come up with an ideal
combination of states in your portfolio so as to maximize your
scope of making a profit.

2. There will be 14 states available to the participants to invest in.


The states being divided into THREE TIERS as follows:
Tier 1 : (Consisting of 6 states)
These are the metropolitan states i.e. the ones which are
developed, these states top the class based on better living
standards, exposure and job opportunities. You have to spend
more in terms of living, food and transportation in these states.

● Hovec Sawmill
● Krovnik Farmland
● Verdansk Riverside
● Cheshire Park
● Aniyah Palace
● St. Petrograd
Tier 2 : (Consisting of 4 states)
These are the next level down from Tier 1, and are basically smaller
states, statistically 1 million in population. Generally, these states
have several industrial clusters, are situated in business-friendly
states, and are well-connected to other major economic hubs. Many
of them have carved a niche for certain specific industrial activities.

● Arklov peak
● Tavorsk District
● Rammaza
● Hackney Yard

Tier 3 : (Consisting of 4 states)


Tier 3 includes the rest of the small states that have shown potential
to become a business destination. These states are developing
infrastructure to support large-scale economic activity. Lower tier
states offer comparatively cheap labor and affordable real estate,
but setting up in these states also comes with challenges.

● Suldal Harbor
● Karst River Quarry
● Piccadilly
● Euphrates Bridge
3. Each participating team is required to invest a minimum of
2 states per Tier. There is no maximum limit on the states you
can choose to invest in.

4. Participants failing to hit the minimum criteria per tier


shall be disqualified.

5. Once the participants pick the states they want to put their
money on, they must decide the size of investment they desire to
make in each state.

The investment size has been divided into three categories:

● Large : Price of the respective state * 3


Medium : Price of the respective state * 2


● Small : Price of the respective state * 1

6. Each team will have a total fixed capital of $4,000,000.

7. Investments exceeding this limit would lead to immediate


disqualification.
8. The participants will be provided with news and rumours along
with certain statistics for each state.

9. The participants, before making an investment, must take into


consideration the impact of the facts and figures as well as the news
and rumours on each state. These inferences shall also be used to
determine the size of their investment.

10. At the end of the round, the top 10 teams who are able to
closely trail the optimum selection of states for their portfolio shall
be advanced to the final round.
