Over time our concept of engineering and technology has improved.

Technology has
existed for as long as there have been people. Indeed, tool-making techniques are
regarded as the most important evidence for the emergence of human culture. Overall,
technology has been a significant influence in the advancement of civilisation. Tools
increase human capacities, allowing humans to see further and in greater detail,
complete jobs more effectively, and accomplish things that would otherwise be
impossible.
In the wider context, technology expands our ability to affect the world to cut, shape, or
put together materials; to move things from one place to another; to reach farther with
our hands, voices, and senses. We utilize technology to try to transform the world to
make it more suited to our needs.
Simultaneously, new ways of processing raw materials to create products with
properties unlike any other in nature are constantly being developed—self-cleaning
clothing and paint, nano-fiber clothing that sheds water and never wrinkles, and
composite materials for airplanes that are lighter and stronger than metal alloys, to
name a few. Technology includes every way in which people manipulate the natural
environment to satisfy their needs and wants
Engineering is the practice of applying scientific knowledge to real-world situations.
While science (physics, chemistry, biology, and so on) helps us comprehend the world
and the universe, engineering helps us put that understanding into practice by solving
problems, designing, and making things. It is all about the abilities necessary to acquire
it, while technology always helps or results in productivity and marketing. Technology is
the application of science with the help of engineering skills for inventions, whereas
engineering is about ethics and skills when working or addressing an issue. As a result,
science, technology, and engineering are inextricably linked and should be pursued as
a single entity
