28 Bible Verses for Spring and a

Devotional
By: Daniella Nicole Requintina

Primavera—an Italian word that metaphorically means rebirth, and literally means Spring.
Usually, Spring symbolizes themes of rebirth, renewal, and a fresh start. The season is also
associated with love, hope, youth, and growth.

Others celebrate the coming of Spring as the transition from winter to the vibrant colors of
nature—blossoming of flowers and growth of crops and trees. Christians, on the other hand,
celebrate Easter and Passover, as these religious celebrations fall in Spring.

For Christians and believers, Spring is a testament that God fulfills His promises; that after all
our sufferings, there is hope to renew and start again. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to
save us from our sins.

Bible Verses for Spring

As Spring means renewal and growth, it’s never too late to start doing devotional and memory
verses again. There’s a lot in store for us that might be the answers to our prayers. To give you
another reason to celebrate Spring, here are some verses tackling several themes associated
with the season.

Rekindling your Faith

There are times we lose our way, distracted, and disheartened—to the point that we lose our
faith in God because of some circumstances. Things may not go as planned or our prayers may
not have been answered right away, but may these verses assure you that God delays but
never forgets. He has better things for you according to His Will.

The season of Spring brings hope. Let this be a start of rekindling your faith in the Lord
Almighty. It is the time to renew your faith, and acknowledge His presence. Trust in Him, and
you will prosper. Recognize Him again, and wait for His light to shine upon you. Let us believe in
His blessings—both visible and invisible. Follow His words, be righteous and loving, and do
good deeds to others. Let Him lead you to the right way. That’s the essence of Spring.

Hosea 6:3
“Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises,
he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”
Matthew 13:23
“As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He
indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and another thirty.”

Ephesians 4:23
“Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.”

Hebrews 11:3
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is
what the ancients were commended for. By faith, we understand that the universe was formed
at God’s command so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.”

Psalm 85:11-13
“Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky. Yes, the
Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before him
and make his footsteps a way.”

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to
you.”

Isaiah 55:1-3
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and
eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money
for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to
me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me;
hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast,
sure love for David.”

Fresh Start & New Beginnings

Let the below passages encourage you to take small steps towards a fresh start. We may have
done unrighteous deeds in the past and made wrong decisions, but there is always room for
starting anew. Let this be a blessing and reminder for all of us that our Lord still and will always
accept us with open arms. Believing this would spark joy and love within us, and would also
encourage us to share these with the people who surround us.

of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit;
blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with
me.”

abundant rain on tender plants.”

James 5:7

land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.”
Growth
Human beings are like trees in a way that when nourished and blessed with all our basic needs,
we prosper. In fact, we are truly blessed and successful. The word of God and our good deeds
with our neighbors is our Spring. If we become distant with the Lord, it feels like winter.

Indeed, there is a time for everything. And this season, it’s time for growth, healing and a fresh
start to move forward towards new beginnings. May we not be tired of doing good and thinking
of betterment for ourselves and for others. Even if it feels like the night or the winter season has
been with us for so long, may we not get tired of waiting for the sun to rise. May these verses
open your eyes for growth and harvest.

Psalm 1:3
“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and
whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations”

“Let both grow together until harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, ‘Gather the
weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.’”

the wise, and knowledge to the discerning.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be
born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a
time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a
time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time
to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to
throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to
love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.”

Isaiah 44:1-4
“But now listen, Jacob, my servant, Israel whom I have chosen. This is what the Lord says—he
who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, Jacob,
my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and
streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your
descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.”
Love
The passages below are a reminder that God is love, and that His love for us is eternal and
unconditional. His love moves in mysterious ways—more than we can ever imagine and think
of.

Let us love our neighbors just like how God loves us. Let’s act as if we are encountering God
through our neighbors. Let us be our better selves, and start by loving a little more and sharing it
with others, causing ripples of love.

1 John 4:7-8
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been
born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul—then I will send rain on your land in its
season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather your grain, new wine, and olive
oil.”
