Core Software is split into two parts:
- Control software which is held on the BAV Controller
PCB
- Monitoring software which is held on the Front Panel
PCB

There are three occasions where software needs to be

upgraded:
- Upgrade software
- Upgrade language files
- Upgrade ventilator model/options

Upgrade BAV Software

Connect PC to vent using programming cable part number

12600015

Turn on the ventilator

Open ventflash version 2.1.0.5 and click download

Select the BAV040_9_6X.ABS and click open

Once the .ABS file has been installed click OK on ventflash

Enter into system information screen and verify download.

Upgrade Front Panel Software

Connect PC to vent using programming cable part number

Turn on the ventilator

Open ventflash version 2.1.0.5 and click download

Select the FP700900_10_0x_combined.a20 and click open

Once the .a20 file has been installed click OK on ventflash

Enter into system information screen and verify download.

Contain the different languages

More languages than space for hence multiple
language packs

Held on FP PCB

English is default language on all Langroups.
English is only language on bare vent.

Upgrade a language file

Connect PC to vent using programming cable P/N 12600015

Turn on the ventilator

Open ventflash version 2.1.0.5 and click download

Select the fp700900_10_0X_langroup2_07072010.a20 and click
open

Once the language group has been installed click OK on ventflash

Enter into LINGO and verify the language pack has been installed

Defines model of vent, 710/950/990 etc.

Can be specified at purchase or later as a field
upgrade. Single Use.

Specific to serial number. Held on BAV

Vent. Def. install files required.

Chargeable option.

Required if fitting new BAV PCB

Upgrade Ventilator Options:

When a vent upgrade package is purchased the following three files
will be sent and must be placed into one folder on your PC:
 Vent Key Prog.exe Download program
 VLC.dll Vent Key operating file
 xxxxxxxx_YYY.vff Upgrade File xxx is serial YYY is model

This file will only work on the vent with the matching serial number.

Connect PC to vent using programming cable P/N 12600015

Turn the vent on

Open the vent key prog

Select the required com port

Select Program Key File

Open the upgrade file

When download is complete the ventilator will reboot

Select OK to finish

Ventflash – downloader utility used to install FP &

BAV S/ware and Language groups

Current version is 2.1.0.5

Only validated for Windows XP

Bleaseterm – used for diagnostics and to change
serial number when replacing BAV PCB.

ventilator was programmed using VentFlash
2.1.0.5

The software files for the controller / front panel
and which (if any) language group was used.

The serial number of the ventilator

The software versions

The date when the ventilator was reprogrammed.

All this information is automatically collected
during the programming sequence and saved to
the Flash Log
