4Gb ram is way too low for video editing unless you are doing it on something basic like Filmora. If
you are planning to do some visual effects, motion graphics, modeling, etc. go for at least 16gb, or
32 is even better. And pick a higher memory graphics card for faster rendering.
Also, the hp pavilion dv7-4177nr isn't a pc as long as I know, it's a laptop. No laptop is good for video
editing, except macbook pro.

Thanks for your response, yes its a laptop. I intend to increase the RAM to 16gb. Then 2gb graphics
is embeded in it. I know desktops are way better, I still intend to get it but for now I need something I
can easily work with till I can afford a full system

I’ve been doing research for video editing pc in the last couple of weeks and most people
recommend a desktop over a laptop. You get better value for the money. I’m not sure what your
budget is, but you should aim for AMD Cpu (Ryzen 5 or better), at least 16GB RAM, geforce rtx (or
geforce quadro if you can afford)would
BlackHatWorld and SSD.

I am a little tight on a budget hence my consideration for this laptop I am being pitched.

1. This is laptop.
Yes, you can edit video with it. But it takes very long time to render, and it has not enough power to
smoothly see what you are editing.

If I were you, I would figure something else to get more money for a desktop computer instead of a
laptop. If not, I suggest that you get more ram at least, even tho I doubt this laptop motherboard will
support more than 8GB

It will not work smoothly for video editing. It's Very poor configuration. You can't do any online related
