Q.1: What events widened the distance between Muslims and Hindus?

Ans.1: Following were the events which widened the distance between Muslims
and Hindus:

1) Urdu- Hindi controversy in 1867.


2) Hindu opposition partition of Bengal 1905.
3) Chore choir incident.
4) Hindi extremist movements.
5) Congress Ministers.

Q.2: What proposals were given by Crips Mission?

Ans.2: Following were the proposal given by Crips Mission:-

1) India liberation after war.


2) In the constituenl assembly autonomus states will given representation.
3) An agreement will made between Britsh crown and constituent assembly for
the setlemant of dipules.
4) The provinces will be given right to opt out of union.
5) During the war totally responsibility of defense will be in hands of British
government.

Q.3: Why the congress and Muslims League rejected the Crips Mission proposal?

Ans.3: Congress rejected this proposal on the basis that there were no immediate
steps for independence and time was given after the war. Muslims Leagues
rejected this proposal on the basis because there was no clarity about Pakistan
foundation.

Ans.7: On 16th June 1946 after consulting with cabinet Mission Lord Wavell
announced that Congress will have six Muslims five and Minorities three
representatives. Equal important deferments will be given both parties. If any
party do not accept cabinet proposals will not be included in the interim
government.

of Hindu Muslim Unity”.

1) Muslim League will confirm the demand of India Liberation and will cooperate
in the temporary government.
2) After the war a commission will determine Muslims majority districts.
3) Mutual agreement will be made regarding defence, commerce, communication
etc.
