The clerk shall assess a charge for the handling of registry
funds, to be assessed from interest earnings and in accordance
with the detailed fee schedule issued by the Director of the
Administrative Office of the United States Courts.
The court may charge and collect fees, commensurate with the
cost of printing, for copies of the local rules of court. The court may
also distribute copies of the local rules without charge.
For usage of electronic access to court data, $.10 per page for
public users using a Federal judiciary Internet site [provided
the court may, for good cause, exempt persons or classes of
persons from the fees, in order to avoid unreasonable burdens
and to promote public access to such information]. No fee is
owed until an account holder accrues charges of more than
$15.00 in a quarterly billing cycle. All such fees collected shall
be deposited to the Judiciary Information Technology Fund.
For printing copies of any record or document accessed
electronically at a public terminal in the courthouse, $.10 per
page. This fee shall apply to the United States.
For every search of court records conducted by the PACER
Service Center, $30.00.

The clerk shall assess a charge for the handling of registry
funds, to be assessed from interest earnings and in accordance
with the detailed fee schedule issued by the Director of the
Administrative Office of the United States Courts. For
management of registry funds invested through the Court
Registry Investment System, a fee at the rate of 10 basis points
shall be assessed from interest earnings, excluding registry
funds from disputed ownership interpleader cases deposited
under 28 U.S.C. § 1335 and held in a Court Registry
Investment System Disputed Ownership Fund.
For management of funds deposited under 28 U.S.C. § 1335 and
invested in a Disputed Ownership Fund through the Court
Registry Investment System, a fee at an annual rate of 20 basis
points of assets on deposit shall be assessed from interest earnings.
The Director of the Administrative Office has the authority
to waive these fees for cause..
The court may charge and collect fees, commensurate with

Miscellaneous Fee Schedule
The fees included in this schedule are to be charged for
services provided by the bankruptcy courts.
• The United States should not be charged fees under this
schedule, with the exception of those specifically prescribed in
Items 1, 3, and 5 when the information requested is available
through remote electronic access.
• Federal agencies or programs that are funded from
judiciary appropriations (agencies, organizations, and
individuals providing services authorized by the Criminal
Justice Act, 18 U.S.C. § 3006A and bankruptcy administrators)
should not be charged any fees under this schedule.
1. a. For reproducing any document, $.50 per page. This fee
applies to services rendered on behalf of the United States if the
document requested is available through electronic access.
b. For reproducing and transmitting in any manner a copy of
an electronic record stored outside of the court’s electronic case
management system, including but not limited to, document
files, audio recordings, and video recordings, $31 per record
provided. Audio recordings of court proceedings continue to be
governed by a separate fee under item 3 of this schedule.
2. For certification of any document, $11.00. For
exemplification of any document, $23.00.
3. For reproduction of an audio recording of a court proceeding,
$32.00. This fee applies to services rendered on behalf of the
United States if the recording is available electronically.
4. For filing an amendment to the debtor’s schedules of
creditors, lists of creditors, or mailing list, $32.00, except:
The bankruptcy judge may, for good cause, waive the charge
in any case.
• The fee must not be charged if:
• the amendment is to change the address of a creditor or
an attorney for a creditor listed on the schedules; or
• the amendment is to add the name and address of an
attorney for a creditor listed on the schedules.
5. For conducting a search of the bankruptcy court records,
$32.00 per name or item searched. This fee applies to services
rendered on behalf of the United States if the information
requested is available through electronic access.
6. For filing a complaint, $350.00, except:
• If a trustee or debtor-in-possession files the complaint, the
fee should be paid only by the estate, to the extent there is
an estate.
• This fee must not be charged if—
• the debtor is the plaintiff; or

If the filing fee for the chapter to which the case is re-
quested to be converted is less than the fee paid at the com-
mencement of the case, no refund may be provided.
11. For filing a motion to reopen, the following fees apply:
• For filing a motion to reopen a Chapter 7 case, $245.
• For filing a motion to reopen a Chapter 9 case, $1,167.
• For filing a motion to reopen a Chapter 11 case, $1,167.
• For filing a motion to reopen a Chapter 12 case, $200.
• For filing a motion to reopen a Chapter 13 case, $235.
• For filing a motion to reopen a Chapter 15 case, $1,167.
The fee amounts in this item are derived from the fees pre-
scribed in 28 U.S.C. § 1930(a).
The reopening fee must be charged when a case has been
closed without a discharge being entered.
The court may waive this fee under appropriate circum-
stances or may defer payment of the fee from trustees pend-
ing discovery of additional assets. If payment is deferred, the
fee should be waived if no additional assets are discovered.
The reopening fee must not be charged in the following instances:
• to permit a party to file a complaint to obtain a determi-
nation under Rule 4007(b); or
• when a debtor files a motion to reopen a case based upon an al-

Center, National Archives, or other storage location removed
from the place of business of the court, $64.00. For retrievals in-
volving multiple boxes, $39.00 for each additional box. For elec-
tronic retrievals, $10.00 plus any charges assessed by the
Federal Records Center, National Archives, or other storage lo-
cation removed from the place of business of the courts.
13. For any payment returned or denied for insufficient
funds, $53.00.
14. For filing an appeal or cross appeal from a final judgment,
order or decree, $293.00.
• This fee is collected in addition to the statutory fee of
$5.00 that is collected under 28 U.S.C. § 1930 (c) when a no-
tice of appeal is filed.
• Parties filing a joint notice of appeal should pay only one fee.

• If a trustee or debtor-in-possession is the appellant, the
fee must be payable only from the estate, to the extent there
is an estate.
• Upon notice from the court of appeals that a direct ap-
peal or direct cross appeal has been authorized, an additional
fee of $207.00 must be collected.
15. For filing a case under Chapter 15 of the Bankruptcy
Code, $1,167.
This fee is derived from and equal to the fee prescribed in 28 U.S.C.
§1930(a)(3)forfilingacasecommencedunderChapter11ofTitle11.
16. The court may charge and collect fees commensurate with
the cost of providing copies of the local rules of court. The court
may also distribute copies of the local rules without charge.

• For handling registry funds deposited with and held by
the court, the clerk shall assess a charge from interest
earnings, in accordance with the detailed fee schedule
issued by the Director of the Administrative Office of the
United States Courts.
• For management of registry funds invested through the
Court Registry Investment System, a fee at an annual
rate of 10 basis points shall be assessed from interest
earnings, excluding registry funds from disputed
ownership interpleader cases deposited under 28 U.S.C. §
1335 and held in a Court Registry Investment System
Disputed Ownership Fund.
• For management of funds deposited under 28 U.S.C. §
1335 and invested in a Disputed Ownership Fund through
the Court Registry Investment System, a fee at an annual
rate of 20 basis points of assets on deposit shall be
assessed from interest earnings.
• The Director of the Administrative Office has the
authority to waive these fees for cause.
18. For a motion filed by the debtor to divide a joint case filed
under 11 U.S.C. § 302, the following fees apply:
• For filing a motion to divide a joint Chapter 7 case, $245.
• For filing a motion to divide a joint Chapter 11 case, $1,167.
• For filing a motion to divide a joint Chapter 12 case, $200.
• For filing a motion to divide a joint Chapter 13 case, $235.
These fees are derived from and equal to the filing fees
prescribed in 28 U.S.C. § 1930 (a).
19. For filing the following motions, $188.00:
• To terminate, annul, modify or condition the automatic stay;
• To compel abandonment of property of the estate pursuant to
Rule 6007(b) of the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure;
• To withdraw the reference of a case or proceeding under 28
U.S.C. § 157(d); or
• To sell property of the estate free and clear of liens under
11 U.S.C. § 363(f).
This fee must not be collected in the following situations:
• For a motion for relief from the co-debtor stay;
• For a stipulation for court approval of an agreement for
relief from a stay; or
• For a motion filed by a child support creditor or its
representative, if the form required by § 304(g) of the
Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1994 is filed.

Drivers and registered vehicle owners may receive an
uncertified copy of a crash report (for crashes occurring on
non-toll roads) free by applying in person at the investigating
station within one year of date of crash. Copies available two
weeks from date of crash.
Reports will not be available to anyone applying in person at
Division Headquarters. State Police do not Fax reports.
All requests for crash reports on toll roads must be directed
to the specific toll road authority.

COUNTY CLERKS AND REGISTERS FEES
(N.J.S. 22A:4-4.1, effective July 21, 2003)
NOTE: In addition to the statutory fees listed below, each
register or county clerk makes a postage and handling charge
for return of documents recorded and an indexing charge
depending on the number of names to be indexed. The charge
varies in each county but is nominal. Some counties also
impose a surcharge of $3.00 per document, for support of a
County Homelessness Housing Trust Fund.
Realty Transfer Fees (Effective August 1, 2004)
On the recording of deeds, the county clerk or register must
collect a Realty Transfer Fee in accordance with the following
schedules:
Consideration up to $350,000
$2.00 for each $500 of consideration or fractional part thereof
up to $150,000.
On amounts in excess of $150,000 up to $200,000, an
additional $1.35 per $500 or fraction thereof is imposed on
such excess (Total Realty Transfer Tax on sale amounts
greater than $150,000: $600.00 plus $3.35 for each $500 or
part thereof in excess of $150,000).
On amounts in excess of $200,000 up to $350,000, an additional
$.65 per $500 or fraction thereof is imposed on such excess (Total
Realty Transfer Tax on sale amounts greater than $200,000: $935.00
plus $3.90 for each $500 or part thereof in excess of $200,000).
Consideration in excess of $350,000
$2.90 for each $500 of consideration or fractional part thereof
up to $150,000. On amounts in excess of $150,000 up to
$200,000, an additional $1.35 per $500 or fraction thereof is
imposed on such.
On amounts in excess of $200,000 up to $550,000, an
additional $.55 per $500 or fraction thereof is imposed on such
excess (Total Realty Transfer Tax on sale amounts greater
than $200,000: $1,295.00 plus $4.80 for each $500 or part
thereof in excess of $200,000).
On amounts in excess of $550,000 up to $850,000, an
additional $.50 per $500 or fraction thereof is imposed on such
excess (Total Realty Transfer Tax on sale amounts greater
than $550,000: $4,655.00 plus $5.30 for each $500 or part
thereof in excess of $550,000).
On amounts in excess of $850,000 up to $1,000,000, an
additional $.50 per $500 or fraction thereof is imposed on such
excess (Total Realty Transfer Tax on sale amounts greater
than $850,000: $7,835.00 plus $5.80 for each $500 or part
thereof in excess of $850,000).
On amounts in excess of $1,000,000, an additional $.25 per
$500 or fraction thereof is imposed on such excess (Total Realty
Transfer Tax on sale amounts greater than $1,000,000: $9,575.00
plus $6.05 for each $500 or part thereof in excess of $1,000,000).
Also, on transfers of residential property in excess of
$1,000,000, a fee of 1% of the full amount of consideration is
imposed upon the buyer.
Reduced Rate for certain sellers:
(For sellers of low- and moderate-income housing
and sellers who are senior citizens, blind or disabled)
Consideration up to $350,000
$.50 for each $500 for amounts up to $150,000.
On sale amounts in excess of $150,000, an additional $.75
per $500 for amounts in excess of $150,000 (Total Realty
Transfer Tax: $150.00 plus $1.25 for each $500 or part thereof
in excess of $150,000).
Consideration in excess of $350,000
$1.40 for each $500 of consideration or fractional part thereof
up to $150,000.
On amounts in excess of $150,000 up to $550,000, an
additional $.75 per $500 or fraction thereof is imposed on such

thereof in excess of $850,000).
