1. Let ABCD be a convex quadrilateral and E be a point on CD such that the circumcircle of
∆ ABE is tangent to CD. Suppose AC meets BE at F, BD meets AE at G, and AC meets BD
at H. If FG ∥ CD , and the areas of ∆ ABH , ∆ BCE and ∆ ADE are 2, 3 and 4 respectively,
find the area of ∆ ABE .
2. A, B, C, M, N are points on the circumference of a circle with MN as a diameter. A, B are on
the same side of MN and C is on the other side, with A being the mid-point of arc MN. CA and
12
CB meet MN at P and Q respectively. If MN =1 and MB= , find the greatest length of
13
PQ.
3. Points A and C lie on the circumference of a circle with radius 50 . B is a point inside the
circle such that ABC=90 °. If AB=6 and BC=2 , find the distance from B to the centre of
the circle.
4. ABCD is a trapezium with AB ∥ CD , AB=42, BC=20 and DA=15. P is a point on AB, and
a circle with centre P is tangent to both BC and AD. Find AP × PB
5. Let ABCD be a square of side length 1234. E is a point on CD such that CEFG is a square of
side length 567 with F, G outside ABCD. The circumcircle of ∆ ACF meets BC again at H.
Find CH.
6. In ∆ ABC , ∠ A=54° and ∠ C=2 4 ° . P is a point on AC such that AP=BC . Find ∠ C BP
7. Let I be the in-centre of ∆ ABC . If BC= AC + AI and ∠ A BC −∠ ACB=13° , find ∠ BAC .
