This equipment should only be performed by experienced technical personnel.
Radio Overview
5.) Antenna
Transmitting / receiving signals.
7.) Speaker
Output voice.
8.) Microphone
Input voice.
14.) Battery
Power supply for radio.
2.Receiver
1) Front-end RF amplifier
The signal input from the antenna passes through the antenna low-pass, and transmit-receive circuit , and LC band-pass
filter to eliminate unwanted signals, it’s amplified in the RF amplifier LNA(Q501), the amplification of the RF signal is
sent to RDA1846 (U601).
2) RF signal demodulation
RDA1846 (U601) receiving a frequency range is from 400MHz to 470MHz. The amplification of signal from the RF
amplifier (Q501) passes through the chip processing, the demodulation of baseband signals are output to the baseband
processing section of the front end CODEC chip WM8758B (U201). The baseband signal is convert digital signal by the
ADC in the CODEC chip WM8758B, and it’s sent SCT3252X (U202) processing.
3.Transmitter
1) Transmit Audio
The audio signal from the microphone a simple RC filter, the audio signal enters into the CODEC chip WM8758B
(U201) to the ADC conversion, Then the resulting digital audio signal passes through SCT3252F (U202) for amplification,
pre-emphasis, encryption, scrambling, limiter, 4FSK modulation processing, etc. After processing of the digital baseband
signal is converted to an analog signal after passing through the CODEC chip WM8758B (U201) to the DAC conversion,
the analog signal is modulated onto the RF carrier after sending to the RDA1846 (U601).
2) CTCSS/DCS
CTCSS / DCS encoder required signals generating by the RDA1846 (U601) internally and CTCSS / DCS signals
modulated onto the RF carrier signal generating by internal PLL.
3)RF Amplifier
The modulated RF carrier signal outputs from RDA1846 (U601) pin, it’s passes through the buffer amplifier (Q401)
and the RF amplifier (Q402, Q403) , the modulated carrier signal power amplification to more than 4W.
5)APC
The automatic power control (APC) circuit stabilizes the transmit power by detecting the drain current of final stage
amplifier FET. U401compares the preset reference voltage with the voltage obtained from final current. APC voltage is
proportional to the difference between auto detect voltage and reference voltage output from U401, Output voltage controls
FET amplifier, keeping the transmit output power constant. Transmitted output power can be controlled by changing the
reference level in the microprocessor.
4. Power supply
The battery voltage changes into 3.6V by DC-DC, and then changes into 3.3V (A3V3) by LDO (U703) to RF and
baseband analog power supply; changes into 3.3V (A3V3) by LDO (U705) to control and baseband digital circuitry power
supply; changes into 1.2V (D1V2) by LDO (U704) to SCT3252X (U202) core power supply.
VOX
When the state is set to work in the VOX, MIC received voice signal amplified by the amplifier Q207, sends to the
half-wave rectified (D205) to output DC voltage, sends to the MCU (U601) detecting whether the open transmit conditions,
if they meet the condition MCU (U601) will start emission control transmitter circuit.
5. Control System
The control circuit is constituted by a microprocessor STM8S207 RBT6 (U101) and the external circuit. It controls the
TX-RX unit. The main function of U101 as follows:
(1)Detection of external buttons, and controlling corresponding the work circuit.
(2)Readout system, group, frequency, and programming data from the memory circuit.
(3)Transmit frequency data to RDA1846.
(4)Control squelch on and off according to the DC voltage output of squelch circuit.
(5)Control the audio is muted according to decode the data.
