Tom had been knocking on the door for half an hour before Kate let him in.
 skutki czynności były widoczne w przeszłości
I was out of breath because I had been jogging for two hours.

- zdanie pytające: operator + podmiot + been + czasownik + ing + ................

- zdanie przeczące: podmiot + operator + not + been + czasownik + ing + ................
He hadn`t been driving the car when the accident happened.
