Summary: Determination of borate in seawater using ion exclusion

chromatography with suppressed conductivity detection after
Inline Matrix Elimination.

Sample: Seawater
Sample Preparation: Dilution 1:20 with ultrapure water, the borate is injected onto
an Organic Acids Guard column, the matrix (mainly chloride)
is washed from the column with ultrapure water.

Column: 6.1005.200 Metrosep Organic Acids – 250

Eluent: 0.2 mmol/L perchloric acid / 50 mmol/L mannitol
Suppressor: Metrohm Suppressor Module (MSM, 100 mmol/L Li2CO3)
Flow: 0.6 mL/min
Injection Volume: 10 µL onto a 6.1005.250 Metrosep Organic Acids Guard
