3.1 Numbering the Batteries

Before connecting the TA Modules to the batteries, the batteries should be

numbered and labeled correctly by using a label to paste on the surface of the battery

where the labels are easy to be seen. The first battery, or, battery NO.1 must be the

first one on the string positive terminal, the NO.2 is the battery following the NO.1

battery, and so on. The last battery is the one attached closest to the string negative

terminal. The batteries must be numbered in accordance with this method.

on battery number. If you want to interrupt the process during IR test, just switch off the CM

module.

After finishing IR test, the setting for the base IR values should be done as below.

⚫ For New Batteries

After performing a resistance test, the values can be used as a standard resistance for

those specific batteries. See the steps below to set a standard resistance setting.

"Esc" → "D. Setup" → enter the password 2022 →“3 Setup”→“3.6 R Reset”→Choose the

string then press “Enter”, the last IR values will be saved as standard IR values. After that, CM

will alarm if any IR value is higher 50% than the standard one during an IR test.

⚫ For Old Batteries

After performing a resistance test on the old batteries, work out the average value as a

standard resistance. See the steps below to set a standard resistance setting for old batteries.

"Esc" → "D. Setup" → enter the password 2022 →“3 Setup” → “3.5 Initial R”→Choose

the string → Press “▲”to the page with “All”, then enter the average value.

5.5 Voltage Internal Resistance Temperature Accuracy Checking Method

Voltage and temperature can be checked with a high-precision voltage and temperature

meter. During checking, the highest 5 values and the lowest 5 values can be checked with the

meter to confirm whether the error is within the allowable range. It should be noted that the

accuracy of voltmeter used for calibration must be 5-digit meter or above.

since the internal resistance values measured by different testing methods are different,

and there is no uniform standard in the world at present, it is impossible to check the internal

resistance accuracy with some internal resistance meter. In the actual application process, the

internal resistance is judged by comparing the resistance values in different times to judge the

health state of the battery, so the repetition precision of the internal resistance is generally

confirmed. The method for confirming the repetition accuracy is as follows: measure the

internal resistance every 10 minutes or so for three times, average the three times, and divide

the maximum deviation from the average value by the average value to obtain the repetition

accuracy.
