Discussion of Waste Management,

its processes, methods, and the
programs connected to it.

Work plan of YES-O for

School Year 2021-2022
The activities and actions necessary to manage
trash from its inception through disposal are
referred to as waste management. This
involves garbage collection, treatment, and
disposal, as well as waste management
process monitoring and control.
Garbage management minimizes the negative
impact of waste on the environment, human health,
and other factors. It can also assist in the reuse or
recycling of resources such as paper, cans, and glass.
There are several types of waste management,
including solid, liquid, gaseous, and hazardous
waste disposal.
According to a UN Environment Program
estimate, the Philippines is the fourth
greatest producer of solid waste among
ASEAN states, with 14.66 million tons
produced per year. According to the
Philippines' Environment Management
Bureau, the country's annual garbage might
reach 18.05 million tons by 2020.

of MSW.

Commercial sources, such as commercial enterprises and

public or private marketplaces, provide 27.1 percent,
with the latter accounting for nearly two-thirds of
commercial waste in some areas. Institutional sources,
such as government offices, educational and medical
facilities, account for roughly 12.1 percent, while trash
from the industrial or manufacturing sector accounts for
the remaining 4.1 percent.

Material wasted by schools,

nonmedical waste discarded by
hospitals, non-manufacturing
activities at jails and government
facilities, and material abandoned
by other similar establishments or
facilities are all examples of
institutional trash.
