This document provides instructions for purifying water using chlorine bleach after a disaster when water sources may be contaminated. It explains that for clear water, 8 drops of bleach per gallon should be added and mixed, then allowed to sit for 30 minutes to an hour before drinking. For cloudy water, 16 drops of bleach per gallon is needed. It also provides steps to sanitize water containers by adding 1 teaspoon of bleach to 1 liter of water and coating the inside of the container before rinsing.

Use Chlorine Bleach To Make Your Water Safe
If the water is clear:
1. Use nonscented chlorine bleach for purifying your water. 2. Add 8 drops (1/8 of a teaspoon) of nonscented liquid chlorine to 1 gallon of water. 3. Stir to mix the solution well. Wait 30 minutes to an hour before using this water.
If the water is cloudy:
1. Again use chlorine bleach which is nonscented. 2. Add 16 drops (1/4 of a teaspoon) of liquid chlorine bleach to 1 gallon of water. 3. Stir to mix the solution well. Wait 30 minutes to an hour before using this water.
Make sure to clean and sanitize your
water containers before storing water: 1. Again use chlorine bleach which is nonscented. 2.Add 64 drops or 1 teaspoon of household chlorine bleach to 1 liter of water. 3. Put this mixture into a clean water storage container and mix it well. Ensure that the solution encrusts the entire inside of the water container. 4. Leave it for 30 seconds to a minute, and then throw out the solution. 5. Rinse the container out with clean water (that has already been made safe) OR simply let to air dry
