Hello Mr.

Acosta,

In a recent article I had read titled, “Collaboration Improves Workplace Performance. Here’s
How to Encourage It” written by Business.com, it came to my attention that gaining collaboration
and teamwork is beneficial to a better workplace environment. The article mentions topics on
how productivity, motivation and perseverance increase when in a team environment. I believe
that Young Legacy as a company can become much more improved, if a more team-oriented
workplace is implemented.

In an experiment conducted by researchers at Stanford University and published by the Journal

of Experimental Psychology, teamwork led to 64% more effective work while also working at five
times the rate rather than working individually. Incorporating a team setting will not only allow
more work to be done, but you will also get to see the strengths and weaknesses of your
employees. Your employees will not only be working with their strengths, but they do not have
to worry about their weaknesses since other members of the team will have strengths in other
categories. A team environment will also alleviate stress and get your employees to have a
special relationship amongst one another, which is extremely beneficial to Young Legacy and its
productivity. Happy employees make for a happy manager and a more engaged workplace.

With this being said, as a company we would have to make changes around the workplace.
Eliminating competitive performance evaluations is something of the past. Why would our
employees help one another if they were competing against each other in these evaluations?
These evaluations unnecessary levels of stress, and do not provide a sense of teamwork
whatsoever. Switching to a more collaborative setting would change our company culture, which
is something that could attract more employees in the future. The article mentions “A company
with a strong grasp of its own values will ultimately develop a team of like-minded people who
feel united by a sense of solidarity and community.”

Transitioning to a collaborative workplace environment, will only benefit Young Legacy as a

company for now and in the future. Providing employees with others who want to work and
enjoy working, increases productivity and engagement in the workplace. Switching to this
collaborative approach, employees will feel less stressed and more involved. If you feel that a
collaborative style in the workplace is beneficial for Young Legacy, feel free to follow up with me
at BestEmployee@YLC.com or reach me on my cell at (555)-555-5555, to discuss how we can
start transitioning.

Best regards,

Jacob Spalding
