It is a valid choice for parents to educate their children at home, home education is as valuable as formal

education.
How far do you agree with thí statement?
Do the advantages of home education outweigh the disadvantages?

Education, more often than not, always play an indispensible part in human development. These days,
since almost everyone is accessible to the most fundamental educational system, sending their kids to
academic institutions is no longer the only choice for parents when homeschooling is now gaining its
popularity. From my perspective, I agree that while home education is beneficial to a certain extent,
formal education is more preferable due to its highly disciplined environment and socialization.
Therefore, it is still the most popular method adopted by parents nowadays and its benefits eclipse
those of homeschooling.

Undoubtedly, school is the most trustworthy venue that parents can believe to place their children
under close supervision. When going to school, students are obliged to follow a set of rules that
effectively goes a long way in shaping their behavior and attitudes, especially at such impressionable
phases of life in which they are easily influenced by impulsive actions resulting in crime, thief and so on.
These regulations cannot be utilized when it comes to home education; therefore home learners are
required to be immensely self-disciplined in a bid to take advantage of the autonomy at home and it
consequently is not achieved by everyone. The number of figures succeeding despite dropping out of
universities such as Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg is just the well-known minority but in reality, there
is a multitude of people that have fell into dead end as a result of quitting schools.

Aside from discipline, it is school that provides an ideal environment for students to socialize and
integrate. Not only do they stand a good chance of befriending and opening their relationships with a
plethora of people sharing similar interests and hobbies but they also have a platform to healthily
compete with other leaners in terms of studying and self-improvement. Peer pressure is not always
detrimental in the young’s development but can act as a precursor motivating them to exert themselves
to become a better version on a daily basis. Furthermore, attending schools will expose students to
different extra-circular activities that are extremely beneficial for ameliorating their interpersonal skills
which are absolutely necessary in the future.

In conclusion, I believe that although homeschooling is becoming more and more popular, formal
education is still the most optimal method due to the aforementioned values that outweigh those of
home education.
