About AUA
American University of Antigua College of Medicine (AUA), a division of Manipal
Education and Medical Group (MEMG), located in Antigua and Barbuda, is an
international medical school with a US-modeled curriculum that emphasizes hands-on
training and interactive learning in small groups. AUA’s accreditations, approvals &
international recognitions, state-of-the-art academic facilities, pioneering curriculum,
highly qualified and experienced faculty prepare future doctors to practice in the
United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
About MEMG
In 1953, our founder Dr. T.M.A. Pai set up Kasturba Medical College on a barren hill on the
outskirts of the town of Udupi in the State of Karnataka. In the subsequent years many other
academic institutions followed and this vibrant campus became the town of Manipal. As the
Group expanded, the need to consolidate its various segments of institutions and businesses
led to the formation of the Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG) in 2004. MEMG,
today, operates three Universities in India, recognised by the University Grants Commission.
Separately, the businesses and other initiatives of the Group were restructured, where
activities of similar nature were clubbed under four key verticals of Education, Healthcare,
Research and Foundation. All institutions and businesses under MEMG are governed by a
charter that requires them to offer socially relevant and affordable services.

Medicine is the perfect choice for Indian students
with a passion for medicine. AUA alumni are
currently in residency or practicing throughout
the USA, UK and Canada. Students may
complete their 2-year Pre-med program at
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE),
Manipal or in AICASA (American International
College of Arts and Sciences) in Antigua.
Qualified students who complete premedical
coursework are guaranteed acceptance into the
MD program at AUA.

Our training simulators, SimMan 3G®, SimBaby™, Harvey® and Noelle® are so sophisticated even physicians use

FACULTY & CURRICULUM
Our experienced faculty have MDs, PhDs, and/or MBBSs.
10-1 student-to-faculty ratio for academic period 1 and
lecture caps at 100 students ensure methods of
instruction are adjusted to suit individual learning styles.
Homerooms are 24/7, personalized study spaces where a
small group of 10 students participate in team and
case-based learning.

LIBRARY & FACILITIES

Our 800-seat multi-story library, open 24/7, offers an
extensive selection of medical journals.
Small group rooms and individual sectionals are
available for private study.
Our Educational Enhancement Department is available
for tutoring, mentorship, study skills, and time
management.
Other technologies include Echo360 Lecture Capture
and Blackboard Learn.

LABS
The Anatomy Lab includes plastinated body part,
specimens and cadavers.
The Osler Suites, simulated doctors’ offices, allows
students to interact with patients and refine their bedside
manner.
The Clinical Skills Lab allows students to gain experience
in patient care.

On Campus Off Campus: Group 1

AUA’s brand-new campus housing units are
just a three-minute walk from class. Expect
modern amenities, weekly complimentary
housekeeping, Wi-Fi, and other great
housing features.
Group 1 offers the most upscale apartments.
All have modern kitchen appliances and
private bathrooms. Many have decks directly
on or overlooking the ocean.

Off Campus: Group 2 Off Campus: Group 3

Group 2 housing includes one bedroom,
two-bedroom, or three-bedroom apartment
options. These units are a good middle
ground that offers students all the comforts
of home.
Group 3 housing features budget friendly
apartment complexes that are comfortable
and affordable. These housing sites are
approximately a 5 to 10-minute drive from
campus.

LIFE AT MANIPAL

The Manipal Academy of Higher

Education campus is spread over 313
acres of what once used to be a desolate
plateau of hard, laterite rock in
Karnataka’s Udupi district. It is home to
almost 30,000 students and staff and is
Wi-Fi enabled from end to end –
restaurants, libraries, hostel rooms, labs
and classrooms.

There are a lot of facilities to supplement

classroom teaching. These facilities
encourage and aid students in innovative
thinking and pursuing careers of their
choice.
