Om Swastyatu,

Good morning, and greetings to all of us.

Your honorable to all of the judges and the committee of Virtual Mahasaraswati English Competetion
2021, as well as all of the amazing contestant.

Praise and gratitude we pray endlessly for the presence of God Almighty. Because of his grace and gifts
we were able to take part in an English speech competition with the theme "Teenagers and Creative
Learning during pandemic". Which is held by Mahasaraswati University Denpasar, virtually without any
troubles. First of all, allow me to introduce myself. My name is I Gusti Ayu Putri Eka Pebriani. I am a
student from SMK Negeri 1 Petang.

Ladies and gentleman, on this wonderful occasion, let me deliver my speech about the themes that we
raised, regarding youth and learning during a pandemic, these two components are interrelated. Why
do I say that? Teenagers is in a transition period from children to adults. During this time the way they
think being more critical and their creativity increases in facing problems at hand.

Corona Virus Disease or as been known as Covid 19 has changing every aspect at our life. Not only our
tourism and economy system that got the impact of this pandemic. Our education system also has been
changed. New learning system has been created, everything’s working virtually and everyone must
adapted with this new system. In short, ladies and gentleman, this pandemic has limited our youth
generation freedom in learning. It is because learning is carried out from home, reducing their space to
be creative directly with other teenagers. However, as an innovative generation, this pandemic is not
supposed to be a reason for us to stop progressing and being productive.

Dear all of my incredible friends, a quotes once says “Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner
everywhere” This is related to our condition at the moment. Even though we can’t go to school to learn,
with all the advancement and sophisticated technology the learning progress can be done through many
platforms. Our creativity and our curiosity can be expressed in asking and answering questions during
the virtual learning or zoom meetings and extracurricular activities. Moreover, we can also express our
creativity by joining competitions that carried out in the school environment or public competition,
which are carried out virtually.

A little story from me such as competitions held at my school to welcome important days such as
language month and enliven the Birthday of the Republic of Indonesia, which were carried out virtually
and still pay attention to health protocols. This competition activity can be used as a space by students
to express their creativity during the pandemic. The amount of the students that joined the
competitions is showing that in disability, our desire to be an innovative and creative students should
not faded.

Another example, namely competitions that are included outside the school environment, such as this
speech competition. There are so many benefits that we get from this activity, we can develop how to
speak and deliver speeches in English well. This will increases our creativity and build our confidence in
speaking English in front of many people.

Ladies and gentleman, the activities that I’ve mentioned above are clear evidences that this pandemic is
not an obstacle for teenagers to stop being creative and pouring new innovations into creative learning
activities during the pandemic. Furthermore, schools and many educational organizations have been
worked really hard to keep us motivated by established bunch of competitions, seminars, and
workshops virtually. As a students and young generation it is our duty to increases our ability and
prepare ourself, because we know, the challenge that we face ahead will be harder than this.

Dear my greates audience, that's the speech that I can convey today, I hope what I deliver today can
inspire you to keep upgrading yourself. Thank you for your attention and sorry if there are any
inappropriate things. I close with Parama Santih.
