BIAG NI LAM - ANG

The story takes place in the Philippines during the pre-Spanish era. It is one of the most

significant Ilocano epics in the country's pre-colonial literature. It was written in the Ilocano

language at first, but it has been translated into many languages. The story is set in the

Lam-ang is a remarkable man, who is the main character in the story. Namongan, her mother,

objections, he followed his heart and embarked on a new path in search of his love. He had to

deal with one of Ines' suitors as well as monsters. When Lam-ang arrived, he attracted a lot of

attention and impressed Ines. A house toppled when Lam- ang’s rooster flapped its wings.

This astounded everyone, especially Ines. Then Lam- ang's dog, the dog bark and in an

instant the fallen house rose up again. Lam-ang then was invited to lunch with Ines' family,

where he amazed Ines' parents with his riches, and upon his return, he presented the family

with two golden ships. It's a shame that his father isn't there when his mother gives birth. It's

difficult for his mother to be both a mother and a father to her son.

The epic has an aspects of unrealistic event, such as Lam-ang being able to speak from the

moment he was born, the smell from Lam-body ang's causing the fish in the river to die, the

white rooster's crow causing a house in the neighborhood to collapse, the dog's growl causing

the collapsed house to go up again as if nothing had happened, and Lam- ang's collected

bones and healed causing him to live again.

The epic portrayed Filipino tradition in such a way that Ines' parents would give Lam-ang

Ines' hands if he could equal their money.

Lam-ang is a wonderful person because he has a supernatural ability that he has used to serve

others. He would go to any extent to win the heart of the woman he loves, a courageous and

selfless man who is unconcerned about the danger he faces. He only wanted to fight for his

people's rights and for himself. He lived happily with his wife and friends because of his

courteousness to all.

The moral of the story is to love your family as well as your country. Fight for what you

believe in. Fight back toward your enemies. Fight back toward your neighbors. The epic's

theme revolves around the bravery and courage of the main character, Lam-ang, who was

born with the ability to speak and embarked on a series of adventures that resulted in his

valiant death and subsequent consequences.
