CONTRACTOR CHECKLISTS

On following pages, three separate contractor checklists are pre-

sented as examples of how a company might approach the issue of
preselecting, qualifymg, and monitoring contractors to perform
activities subject to U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Sa€ety
and Health Administration (OSHA)regulations, including the Proc-
ess Safety Management (PSM) regulation 29 CFR 1910.119. The
first of the three documents is intended for use in the initial
contractor evaluation and qualification, the second addresses pre-
qualification and selection, and the third addresses and documents
contractor training and information dissemination.
These checklists each have a separate role in assisting the plant
owner in compliance with the contractors element of OSHA PSM,
but also serve as a basis €or selecting, qualifying, and monitoring
contractors in general.
