Shilin Market in north Taipei. This

YOUBIKE - NATIONAL BIKE SHARE PROGRAM

Taipei’s bike share program, Youbike, which


began in 2008, now has 200 stations with
6538 bikes and 55.8 million rentals since the
program's launch. The best part? The price for
a 30-minute rental is a mere 15 cents.
TAIPEI 101
Until the completion of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Taipei
boasted the world's tallest building from 2004 to 2010.
The building known as Taipei 101 is currently ranked the
world's 5th tallest building (508 m).

It’s still considered the "World's Toughest Building." A damper helps


steady the tower, which sits 660 feet from a fault line on an island
often hit by typhoons.
