Effective this date, the PNP Air Unit which is under the Special Action Force (SAF) shall be transferred to the Office of the Chief, PNP (OCPNP)and shall be placed under the supervision of the Director for Operations (TDO). As such, TDO has the power delegated by the Chief, PNP to exercise supervisory authority over the PNP Air Unit. He shall direct, supervise, and ensure coordination of the work of the PNP Air Unit. 2. In addition, TDO is authorized to draw up and transmit orders and instructions to the Chief, Air Unit on matters falling under its areas of expertise and within the framework of existing policies and Command guidance. 3. The PNP Air Unit shall continue to perform the following functions: Assist in law enforcement operations; Conduct tactical operations; Render disaster relief, search and rescue operations; Conduct administrative and other urgent field/staff flight missions; Train, develop, and professionalize pilots and its air assets; and Perform other tasks as directed by the Director for Operations. epee gp 4. The personnel, pertinent records, equipment, firearms, vehicles, facilities, air assets, and other resources of the PNP Air Unit shall be transferred from SAF to OCPNP. 5. The Directorate for Personnel and Records Management shall issue appropriate orders for the transfer of personnel assigned to the PNP SAF Air Unit upon recommendation of The Director for Operations and approval of the Chief, PNP. 6. The Directorate for Logistics shall supervise the inventory of air assets, equipment, firearms, and other logistical resources before the transfer and actual tum-over of the PNP Air Unit of SAF to OCPNP. 7. Detailed implementing directive/s necessary for the smooth implementation of this directive shall be formulated by DO, subject to the approval of the Chief, PNP.8. The issuance of this General Orders is in pursuance of the vested power of the Chief, PNP under Section 26 of Republic Act No. 6975.Alll directives and issuances in conflict with the provisions hereof are hereby repealed.
