What makes the work of an Architect covered by RA 8293, Intellectual Property


Code?

Based on the lecture, the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines acknowledges
an efficacious intellectual and industrial property system that will develop domestic, nurture
cultural excellence, integrity, and deep commitment, achieve institutional excellence by
investing in people, technology, and infrastructure.

Any person who is a national or who resides in our country that has an industrial
establishment or intellectual property rights shall be entitled to benefits to the extent
essential and give effect to any terms of such convention, and also, entitled by this Act
which makes the work of an Architect is covered by RA 8293.

With this law, they provided mandated orders and policies for the people to comply.
Here are a few examples: To promote the use of patent information as a tool for
technological development; To review appeals and grant patents, or register utility models,
industrial designs, trademarks, geographical indication, and integrated circuits; Help protect
copyright by assisting in the facilitation of deposit of work; Register technology transfer
arrangements, etc. They have an office to have custody of all records, books, drawings,
specifications, documents, and other papers and things relating to intellectual property
rights applications filed.
