Transformational and Transactional Leadership on the Effectiveness of Teacher

Performance at SDN 212 Inpres Pangkajene

Abstract
This study aims to determine transformational and transactional leadership on the effectiveness
of teacher performance at SDN 212 Inpres Pangkajene. The population of this study was all
teachers and employees of SDN 212 Inpres Pangkajene for the 2019/2020 academic year,
totaling 17 people. Data was collected by the questionnaire method. The questionnaire method
was used to collect data on transformational and transactional leadership variables. Based on the
study results, it can be concluded that 1) There is a positive and significant influence between
transformational leadership and the effectiveness of teacher performance at SDN 212 Inpres
Pangkajene. This is indicated by the tcount value of 3.240 with a sig of 0.006 <0.05. A positive
and significant relationship between transformational leadership and the effectiveness of teacher
performance shows that transformational leadership can affect the effectiveness of teacher
performance. That means that transformational leadership is suitable for use in schools because it
can improve teacher performance. 2) There is a positive and significant influence between
transactional leadership and the effectiveness of teacher performance at SDN 212 Inpres
Pangkajene. This is indicated by the tcount value of 9.973 with a sig of 0.000 <0.05. A positive
and significant relationship between transactional leadership and the effectiveness of teacher
performance shows that transactional leadership style can affect the effectiveness of teacher
performance. It means that the transactional leadership style is suitable for schools because it can
improve teacher performance. 3) Simultaneously, there is a significant and positive effect of
transformational and transactional leadership styles on the effectiveness of teacher performance
at SDN 212 Inpres Pangkajene.
