Based on the discussion under the organizational chart, the chart of Johnson & Johnson
is categorized under the formal organizational structure specifically the line organization. In this
type of formal organizational structure, the general manager establishes direct straight-line
responsibility and control from the general manager to the department or section head on the
same level of authority independent of the other. In addition, a supervisory executive at the next
higher level establishes and maintains coordination among the various departments.

Johnson & Johnson's chart started from the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive
Officer and was followed by different divisions. These divisions are Vice Chairman, Scientific

global public health strategy to make innovative medicines and technologies available in the
world's most vulnerable communities resource-poor settings. The Global Supply Chain leads all
aspects of the supply chain across Johnson & Johnson's three business sectors: Consumer
Health, Medical Devices, and Pharmaceuticals. In addition, their responsibilities include
enterprise Supply Chain strategy, innovation, and deployment, planning, sourcing,
manufacturing, distribution, and customer service. On the division of Global Corporate Affairs, is
responsible for the IT, Finance, and HR organizations within the Consumer & Personal Care
group. For the part of Public Relations or Communication oversees the public relations for a
company. On the side of Finance, it plays a strategic role in the overall management of the
Company. It leads the development and execution of the Company's global long-term financial
strategy. The General Counsel has worldwide responsibility for Legal, Government Affairs &
Policy, Privacy, Global Security, Global Brand Protection, Aviation, and Health Care
Compliance. Lastly, the Human Resources functions to be responsible for global talent,
recruiting, diversity and inclusion, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and all aspects
of the human resources agenda for the Company.
