How the activity will be used in the classroom

This activity will be used in the classroom as a way to get students engaged in learning about
the French Revolution. Each activity hits upon a target skill or piece of content, so they will
demonstrate their learning. It also allows for collaboration and creativity, as some require
students to work together in order to accomplish the goal. Others give students creative outlets,
such as writing songs or performing skits. This can be particularly helpful for students who have
difficulty getting engaged or sitting in one place for an extended period of time. They have the
space to work through the content in a meaningful and engaging way.

The following ISTE Standards for Students are being addressed:

3d. Student builds knowledge by actively exploring real-word issues and problems, developing
ideas and theories and pursuing answers and solutions.

5c. Student breaks problems into component parts, extracts key information, and develops
descriptive models to understand complex systems or facilitate problem-solving.

7b. Student uses collaborative technologies to work with others, including peers, experts, or
community members, to examine issues and problems from multiple viewpoints.
