Martin Luther King's speech

Speech

This speech was made by Martin Luther King in 1963. Martin's main idea was to
denounce the abuses that all people of color had carried out all those last years
due to racial conflicts, he demanded through his speech the justice and freedom
that all people deserve. He also emphasized proclaiming his rights as American
citizens to be able to vote in the presidential election.

As a secondary idea, Martin understands the importance of recognizing the

white community as an equal, as a sister and not as an enemy. His deep
humanistic consciousness distinguishes him from the vengeful speech to whites
that other leaders have adopted.

Martin Luther King ¨Although we see the difficulties of today and tomorrow, my
friends, I tell you: I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the
American dream. I dream that one day this nation will rise and live the true
meaning of its creed: "We affirm that these truths are evident: all men are
equal."
