Activity #3

Write a critical analysis of the important historical information found in Antonio Pigafetta's First
Voyage around the World.

- Antonio Pigafetta is regarded as one of the greatest global explorers, according to my judgment
(seafarer and geographer). He has taken us on great experiences that have led to the discovery
of some interesting things. In the year 1492, he was born in the city of Vicenza. In Ferdinand
Magellan's circumnavigation, he was a participant (sailing or journeying around something,
notably the world). Antonio Pigafetta finished his work after the death of Magellan. In 1519, the
mission began, and in 1522, it was completed in Spain. According to his record, when they
showed up on the island, Zulu (head of the Island of Mactan) vowed to give Ferdinand Magellan
credits, but since Lapu-lapu declined the proposition and wouldn't comply with the Spanish
(King Charles I of Spin), Lapu-lapu mentioned to send one boat of men the following evening, so
they could help him and battle against the other boss. Three boatloads of provisions showed up.
Commander's warriors begged him not to go, however as a decent pioneer, he was unable to
leave his kin. The skipper's side at first educated the native that they would not attack gave they
recognized the King of Spain, perceived the Christian King as their lord, and paid accolades,
however the locals denied. From that point onward, the Natives asked that they delay until light
prior to battling. They did what they were told and paused. Magellan conveyed 49 protected
men. The other eleven men then, at that point, stayed behind to get the boats. The chief's
officers were crushed. The battle was battled on Saturday, April 27, 1521, on the grounds that it
was particularly sacrosanct to the commandant, as indicated by Pigafetta. To make an arrival,
Magellan's men needed to swim through the coast. As per Pigafetta, Lapu-Lapu had something
like 1,500 local heroes. He additionally asserted that main 15 local people were killed during the
fight. Eight of Magellan's men were killed in that contention, while four Indians who had
become Christians and had come later to help them were killed by the boats' mortars. With the
endorsement of the local Mactan individuals, King Charles I sent a message mentioning the
arrival of the remaining parts of the fallen skipper and his soldiers, who had additionally been
killed in the contention. In return, the King would give the locals anything they need, however
they declined and held the remaining parts as a commemoration. The extract is brilliantly
composed and useful, to where Pigafetta extols their catch of the island. The extract was
somewhat dramatic on the grounds that it was motivated by the author's feelings. We realize
that one of their inspirations was simply to acquire the flavors, yet we as a whole realize what
occurred straightaway. We were totally colonized by similar individuals.
