WHAT WE WISH TO DO...
Nigh ngales Medical Trust has successfully established a pilot project in
01| Kolar, where the use of simple technologies and modifica ons to the
environment have helped reduce the cost of care by 45%. We would like to
establish more such centres in different parts of the country in
collabora on with like-minded organisa ons to make quality demen a
care affordable and accessible.

There are over 150 Old Age Homes in Bangalore. Elders living in such
02| homes are usually restricted to their rooms and have minimum exposure
to physical, social and cogni ve ac vi es. Therefore, we would like to
expand our Mobile Ac ve Ageing program to cover more Old Age Homes.

NMT is planning to establish an unique and ambi ous project - Demen a

03| Village near Bangalore. The architectural design of the proposed village
would be created in such a way that the residents can lead normal and
independent lives to the maximum possible without compromising on
their safety. The cost of care at the Village would be 50% lesser compared
to residen al care facili es in Bangalore.

In a City like Bangalore, elders belonging to lower socio economic group

04| face several challenges such as mul ple health problems, loneliness,
financial insecurity etc. When their children are not able to support them,
they are forced to work despite various physical disabili es. We plan to
expand our community-based programs to reach out to more elders
through establishing more day care centres and outreach programs.
