AA 6063 is an aluminium alloy, with magnesium and silicon as the alloying elements.
It has generally good mechanical properties and is heat treatable and weldable. It is
similar to the British aluminium alloy HE9.
It allows complex shapes to be formed with very smooth surfaces fit for anodizing and so
is popular for visible architectural applications such as window frames, door frames,
roofs, and sign frames.
Alloy 6061 is one of the most widely used alloys in the 6000 Series.
This standard structural alloy, one of the most versatile of the heat-treatable alloys, is
popular for medium to high strength requirements and has good toughness
characteristics.

6061 Alloy can be produced for use in standard and custom shapes, rod and bard
products, and seamless and structural pipe and tube.
