Dialogue Structure Assignment

The class that I am going to use the Dialogue Structure in is my preschool class. I use this

because it is perfect of this assignment and will be able to have one of the Dialogue Structures

implemented. The Structured Choices will work in my preschool class because we are already

implementing it. Although it looks a little different this year because of Covid, but it still gets the

idea a crossed and allows the children some sort of Structured choice just within certain

guidelines.

The Dialogue Structure in my class would be the Structured choices. In my classroom we

have a choice board posted and on that are usually four to five ideas that are for the week.

Students are given a station or choice for the day, they can choose to play at that station or

choice or they can always look at books, color or play with their bin of toys in their desk. Then

each day the students rotate through those choices so each day they have something new.

Students always have their voice especially at the preschool level, they are not afraid to share

it. They always get to voice where they want to play, that is one thing we haven’t changed, they

can play anywhere in the room but just has to be in groups of two instead of total free play.

They can choose to play at their desk, with a friend on the floor, or the Structured choice that

they are picked for the day. If they don’t want to play at that choice for the day, that is their

choice but they do know that they then miss out on that opportunity. So far this has been

working out due to Covid and the guidelines we have to follow within our program, the kids

seem to be doing really well with it.
