Festival Names:

The Table Below gives you some options for naming your festival by rolling 2d6.
For example, a roll of 2 and 5 would give you “The Solar Gala”. If you dislike the
first pick, or it doesn’t fit with your adventure then reverse the dice roll for another
option. In this case the 2 and 5 would be come 5 and 2 which would give “The
Founders Carnival”.

The first choice of name may give you an idea for some quick improvisation about
the event. So “The Solar Gala” could be a celebration of the sun or the summer.
While “The Founders Gala” could be to celebrate or remember the first settlers of
an area.

D6 #1 #2
1 Lunar Festival
2 Solar Carnival
3 Celestial Games
4 Harvest Fair
5 Founders Gala
6 Midseason Fiesta

Festival Games:

The next 3 tables are based on Strength, Dexterity and Constitution. You could ask
what type of game the player is looking for and roll from that table or roll a d3 to
determine the table to choose from.

The Games are designed to be played through quickly and are aimed to be done
individually by a single player, however you could opt to have your players
compete against each other or turn it into a team game if more than 1 want to
compete. The tables give a brief description of the game, adding some descriptive
outcome, or even letting the players describe the outcome can add for some fun
memories.

For example:
Player: “I rolled a 2 when trying to push the Ox!”
DM: “Well that’s a fail, what happened?”
Player: “Well I stepped up behind the beast and tried to shove it along but slipped off
its backside and fell headfirst into its feeding trough! If that wasn’t embarrassing
enough the Ox then licked its food out of my hair, and still it didn’t budge!”

You could allow each player to participate in a number of games depending on how
long you/they wish to spend at the event. If a player succeeds in one of the games
then you can grant them a prize ticket.
Optional:
If your players are short on Gold or your feeling generous, you could opt to give the
players a reward of GP instead of prize tickets. This could be determined by the
value that they exceed the test. For example, if a DC10 was required and they payer
rolled a 14. You could give them 1 GP for succeeding and then 4 GP for exceeding it
by 4, for a total of 5 GP.

could grab their attention by improvising something like the following:

Miss Betsie Brewers silly shots!

If you want to add a silly and fun element to the festival then you could consider
using the following:

Miss Betsie Brewer has a small stool at the festival and offers the players a free
shot of her experimental tonic, if they wish to try it that is!

Betsie has a disclaimer notice board beside her stool reading:

“Any altered properties of mind and/or body are only temporary. All shots are
taken at the consumers own risk and Betsie Brewery will not be held liable for any
misadventure that may occur while under the effects of the tonics”

You can determine the duration of the effects dependent on how much you want
the effect to impact your game. They are designed to only be a few moments and
