For years now, humans have mistreated and contaminated the very environment that sustains

them. But the broad concern for the environment can be so overwhelming that people don’t
know what to do or where to start making a difference.
We have heard about the rising sea levels, melting ice caps, drastic changes in weather patterns
and significant decline in the population of several species on the news. While we may think
these events don’t affect us directly, the truth is they are all signs of climate change that pose a
huge threat to the entire planet. Therefore, just like the rest of the world, there are several
serious environmental issues in Pakistan that need to be addressed and dealt with on an urgent
basis.
The list of issue surrounding our environment go on, there are some major ones that affect
significantly which includes:
 Global Warming
 Climate Change
 Water contamination
 Ocean acidification
 Loss of biodiversity
Human activities have made global warming and climate change a global threat. The rising
levels of CO2 and other greenhouse gases have caused an increase in average global
temperature, extreme weather events, rising sea levels and other negative happenings.
Pollution is resulted by emissions from industries, automobiles and increasing use of fossil fuels,
causing serious consequences for all living beings. Not only this, but it had also increased the
risk of diseases among individuals and decreased average span, which is alarming!
Here are some effective solutions to combat these issues:
 Invest in and encourage production of sustainable technology
 Plant more trees to conserve our forests.
 Improve waste compaction in landfills with smart technology.
 Focus on seed quality and value addition instead of over utilization of low quality
pesticides and fertilizers
 Increase forest cover, restore sea grasses and boost use of agricultural cover crops to
reduce the amount of CO2 in atmosphere.
 Replace disposal items with reusable items.
 Conserve water and electricity.
 Support environment friendly practices.
 Recycle the waste to conserve natural resources
These problems need immediate attention and proactive action on our part to ensure the
conservation of the only survive able planet which we call our home.
