L . Gas flowrate (qg-MCFD)

From the plot as above, the absolute open-flow potential (AOF) is approximately 3600 MCFD at
reservoir pressure is 5240 psi.
b) Write the equation for the flow rate determining the value of n and C in the back pressure
eEJ.uation
Answer: from the back pressure equation,
qg = C(P/ - p~ft
And from information in the plotting as above,
The n power can calculate by the equation,
n = - - -1ogq -logq1
- 2- - - - -
log(P~- P~f) 2 -log(P~- P~f) 2
log 2700-log700
n=
log 20004.7-Zog4895.1
n = 0.96
For the C constant, it can calculate by equation,
c= qg
(P~- p~f)n
C= 2700
20004700°·96
C = 2.64x10-4
P~r) '
0 96
So the flow equation for this well is qg = 2.64xlo- 4 (Pr2 -
