Catholicism

Catholicism is, along with Eastern and Eastern Orthodoxy and Protestantism, one of the three
main branches of Christianity. It is the religion professed by the members that make up the
community of the Catholic Church, successor to the Apostolic Church, founded by Peter and Paul
on February 27, 380, Christianity became the exclusive religion of the Roman Empire by a decree
of the emperor.

It is structured as a hierarchical organization of bishops, priests and faithful in a communion with

the pope of the church, in which people receive the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. After
communion comes confirmation, which is the sacrament that confirms faith towards God. The
message of Catholicism, which is identified with the message of Jesus Christ, is addressed to all
human beings of all times. Many Catholics read a book called the "Bible" and it is considered
divine inspiration and a reflection of the relationship between God and humanity. The Catholic
Bible has 27,591 verses in the Old Testament.

There are many types of prayers, one of them is the "Rosary", which is the most traditional
Catholic prayer that commemorates twenty mysteries of the life of Jesus Christ and the Virgin
Mary, reciting after each announcing an Our Father, ten Hail Marys and a glory to the Father. It is
frequently designated as the Holy Rosary by Catholics.

Baptism is the rite of entry into the Christian religion, it is based on eliminating original sin and
personal sins, its very force being the one that produces the effects. It is important because it
represents incorporation into Christ.

Christianity spread throughout Europe. The Germanic peoples gradually became Christianized
between the 4th and 9th centuries. Cyril and Methodius preached to slaves in the 10th century.
Their relationship with other religions is difficult as there are difficulties in understanding the
current level of Christianity's relationships with other religions.

In 2,000 years Christianity has gone from being a small community of disciples gathered around a
miracle worker, Jesus of Nazareth, to being a world religion with millions of followers.

Most of them flourished for a time and then disappeared, while Christianity continued to progress
and its success may be explained by what we now call "compatibility."
