Reflection:
1. What three things have you learned from this particular module?
The three things that I have learned from this particular module. First, is that you should develop the
essential skills needed. This learning path will also be great interest to existing managers, supervisors
and anyone who may have to take on HRM responsibilities as part of their duties within any business
or organization. Second, Human Resource Management is a sequence of courses that will expand your
knowledge and understanding of human resource principles and practices. And lastly, you will learn
key skills in areas such as employee recruitment, selection, training performance appraisal and
motivation strategies, for example, you will know how to implement effective recruitment strategies
by performing a correct job analysis. You will know how to prepare and implement employee training,
development, retention and communication processes where you will be able to promote a business
culture that employees can buy so that they will become more motivated and work more passionately
to make the business a success.
2. How will these three things help you in your current program and in your future career?
This is a huge help for me in my future because, if ever I will apply for a job, I already
have the advance knowledge about these things like for example, the key skills in areas
such as employees recruitment, selection, training performance appraisal, motivation
and strategies, Human resources management hires potential employees. You need to
be able to be the best applicants. You needed to be trained to function effectively. We
need ourselves to be motivated. Part of this motivational process involves
compensation, deciding how and when to compensate employees including decisions
about the relationship between the nature of their jobs and level of their
compensation.

Main Content of the Video Clip (Excerpts of President Duterte’s 2018 State of the
Nation Address)
“Our Campaign against Endo has resulted in the regularization of more than 300,000
workers as of early this month. On May 1 of this year, I signed Executive Order 51,
which sought to protect the workers right to security of Tenure.
Read my lips, I understand that this does not satisfy all sectors. I share their
sentiments; I truly do. Much as I would like to do the impossible, that power is not
vested upon me by the Constitution. And neither will I make both ends meet even if I
violate the laws to achieve that purpose. Simply, it is not part of my territory.
That is why I add mine to their voices in asking Congress to pass legislation ending the
practice of contractualization once and for all”.

President Rodrigo Duterte’s third SONA (State Of the Nation Address) July 23. It was a
serious Digong who faced the nation. I was half-expecting something extra ordinary
any minute. So, it was actually a pleasant surprise.
Outside of the manner by which the SONA was delivered, a closer look at its content is
more important. First, breaking tradition. Duterte did not do a report to the community
what his administration has so far accomplished. He said that it would be self-serving
instead he said that he had ordered the production of a documents on this.
I don’t understand how a verbal narration is considered self-serving and a written one
is not. Still, it would be good to have a sense of what this administration considers it
accomplishments. Surely, some are waiting to have these fact-checked. Afterall, the
government’s function is to protect the country and people’s welfare and interests.
The President has endorsed to Congress the passage of bills in his legislative agenda
that include; ending cotractualization, creation of the Coconut Farmers’Trust Fund, free
tertiary education; national and use policy; the creation of the Department of Disaster
Management; the prohibition of open pit mining; tariff system in rince importation so
it can be imported more freely; the universal health care bill and the package 2 of the
Tax Reform for Acceleration and inclusion (TRAIN) Law.
Reflection of the President’s pronouncement is to fight for the best things to do for the
good of all people even though he knew many people would hate him, but he still don’t
care as long as he know what is the best thing to do. And he didn’t tackle his
achievements but instead he said all his priority projects. And asked the help of the
senate to make it concrete and a reality. People always look on the negative side of the
President, they hate him and get themselves frustrate. But if people will look in the
positive things to what our President contributes in our country, I think community will
avoid the chaotic opinion and starts to spread the positivity and respect to our country.
People are allowed to their give own opinion about government, but it is not normal to
criticized a person especially our President. Too much hate and criticisms are being
said, a work of uneducated and disrespectful person. Everyone should not focus on
mistakes, but instead they should focus on positivity for the betterment of the country.

PROBATIONARY EMPLOYMENT IN THE PHILIPPINES
(Atty. Fred Pamaos, September 4, 2006)
Article 296 (formerly, Article 281) of the Labor Code states that probationary
employment shall not exceed six (6) months from the date the employee started
working, unless it is covered by an apprenticeship agreement stipulating a longer
period. The services of an employee who has been engaged on a probationary basis
may be terminated for a just cause or when he fails to qualify as a regular employee in
accordance with reasonable standards made known by the employer to the employee
at the time of his engagement. An employee who is allowed to work after a
probationary period shall be considered a regular employee.
1. What are the conditions for an employee to be able to attain a regular
employment status in a company? Elaborate. The essay must equal or

Regular or Permanent Employment is when an employee perform activities that are usually
necessary or desirable in the usual business or trade of the employer. They enjoy the benefit
of security often provided by the Philippine Constitution and cannot be terminated for causes
other than those provided by law and only after due process is given to them.
However, some employers can require their new employees to undergo probationary
employment before they can be qualified for regular employment. Although probationary
employment is not a formal type of employment in the Philippines, it is wisely practice to help
employers observe the skills, competence, and performance of new employees and
determine if they are able to meet the reasonable standards to become permanent
employees.
Under Article 281 of the Labor Code of the Philippines, the maximum length of probationary
employment shall be six (6) months, and discounted from the date an employees started
working. When the employment is not terminated after the six month probationary period, It
shall be considered regular employement. It is important to note that the employer must
notify the employee of the probationary period and the standards they must satisfy on before
the end of the peobationary employment. If the employee is not properly notified of the
arrangement the they are prescribed by law to be classified as a regular employee from the
time they started working for the company.

These three things is a big help to me on my current program because I can't wait to use it in the near
future to future career. How to handle the situations in works. And also, it would help me to be a
better and efficient employee.
