IWP INSTALLATION WORK PACKAGE 030


AUXILIARY TRAILER SETUP
Effectivity: TM2500+ / Gen VI & VII

PURPOSE & SCOPE:


This work package provides instructions for on‐site setup of the Auxiliary Trailer, including
positioning, elevation, and leveling; and installing ground connections.

DURATION:
1 day (based on 10 hour days)
* Number of personnel and duration may vary with skill level, productivity, and site conditions.

RECOMMENDED PERSONNEL:
• GE Mechanical TA • 2 Mechanics
• Truck Driver • 2 Helpers

RECOMMENDED TOOLS, MATERIALS, & EQUIPMENT:


• Air‐Ride Trailer Truck • Mechanical Hand Tools (US & Metric)
• Transit & Level • Standard Grease (NLGI Grade II)

NOTE:
LANDING GEAR SUPPORT BLOCKS
It is recommended that a support block 8” to 10” thick be placed under each landing gear to minimize
travel. Minimal extension of the landing gear improves their support strength.
If the landing gear support blocks are not supplied by GE, they must be fabricated in accordance with GE
specifications.

A TRAILER SETUP Initials / Date


Refer to drawing 751202 – Plot Plan, Trailer Mount for additional details.
Move the Auxiliary Trailer into position on the foundation.
1 The centerline to centerline distance should measure roughly 12’ 6’.
Raise or lower the trailer with the airbags until rough level.
Verify the landing gear assemblies are aligned with their respective

landing gear pads.
Lower the landing gear and level the trailer to within ± ½” corner to

corner.
NOTE: The auxiliary trailer landing gear are inboard‐mounted. Handles rotate and engage in
the opposite direction vs. the main trailer (outboard‐mounted).

RECEIVING & INSPECTION
MISSING OR DAMAGED ITEMS MUST BE IDENTIFIED EARLY SO THEY CAN BE ORDERED AND POSSIBLE
PROJECT DELAYS ARE AVOIDED.
FAILURE TO SUBMIT THE OSD&D REPORT AND ANY WARRANTY CLAIMS MAY CAUSE DELAYS IN RECEIPT
OF REPLACEMENT COMPONENTS AND MAY IMPACT THE PROJECT SCHEDULE.
