In ancient Nordic tradition, it is believed that your Viking Birth Runes are
interwoven with your destiny. They can reveal details about your
character, give you insights into your situation and answer questions you
have about your life.

Just like the name suggests, they are calculated according to your birth
and each rune carries a deep meaning — often giving you direct
information for the problem you want to solve or the questions you have
in the current moment of your life.

The Origin of Viking Birth Runes

In Norse mythology, it is said that when every child is born into this
world, Nornir and Disir (Goddesses and spirits of time) weave all
aspects of his or her destiny, including the good and the bad.

There are similarities between Viking Birth Runes and astrology in terms
of the position of the stars and planets. A particular important event is
the pursuit of the chariots of Sol (the Sun) and Manni (the Moon) across
the sky, by the sky wolves Skoll ("Mockery") and Hati ("Hate") — who will
eventually overtake them at Ragnarok, the end of the world.

There is no record of whether Odin was the founder of the runes, though
it is written that he discovered their powers when he hung himself from
a branch of Yggdrasil (The World Tree). In that state, he learned their
secrets and was also equipped with the knowledge on how to wield
them.
He learned chants that enabled him to:

Heal physical and emotional wounds

Handle his enemies with wisdom
Free himself from negative circumstances
Counter bad energies
Protect his friends
Improve relationships
...And many other feats like these

Odin has since been on a journey seeking for heroes who will one day
join him in the final battle and avert the terrible doom of Ragnarok —
this allegory encourages us to find and forge our own destiny within.

How To Calculate Your Viking Birth Runes

The set of runes is composed of 24 symbols. By dividing 12 months of

the year for each, we set that one rune governs half a month. First, check
the date within the month you were born.
