1. Explain the significance of community immersion.

- Community immersion allows individuals who are not familiar with
the people and communities where they will work immerse themselves in these
settings. A strategy in community organizing that is to imbibe among the NSTP
trainees a better understanding and realization of the different community
concerns through exposure on actual life situations specifically in the deprived,
depressed, and the underprivileged communities. With these experiences will
allow them to integrate with other people who may facilitate them to undergo
certain changes that will make them civic-conscious and socially responsible
citizens. When volunteering, students enjoy a sense of personal satisfaction,
knowing that they’re making a difference in other people’s lives. It also teaches
them more about themselves and introduces them to new friends. They also gain a
sense of connection to their community.
In addition, community immersion as a person is aimed at
developing among student-trainees, through the training program, their appreciate
of rendering community works which is quintessential in affording for them the
opportunity to experience and put themselves in real-life situations in the
communities they serve. To contribute in the upliftment of the quality of life the
people in the service areas and at the same time, develop their ethics of service
imbued with the good citizenship values.

2. Among the suggested dimension of development which one would you like to
participate in community immersion and why?
- Among the dimension of development I would prefer to participate the
Environment Awareness because it is extremely important that everyone tries to
be more environmentally aware in order to promote the sustainable development
of our planet. Humans have a moral duty to protect the environment and promote
the sustainable development of the world for future generations. And I would like
to start it with me in order to protect the sustainability of the planet. It’s being
aware of natural environment and making choices that benefit the Earth rather
than hurt it. We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment. So, love the
Earth and Earth will love you too.
