Jakarta. An idGuides Community Trail Guide will lead your private trek, supported by idGuides
Base Team reputed for solid risk management and Indonesia expedition expertise.
The highland villages of Sentul are a beautiful landscape of traditional agricultural heritage. Out
here, you can explore padi fields, coffee and clove agroforests, discovering the traditional Asian
Sundanese way of life. Cool off in a clean river on the trail, if weather conditions are right.
Visiting Sentul with idGuides is about learning from landscape and connecting with communities,
all uniquely possible through our Community Trail Guides whose farms and families you visit and

A Note on Covid-19 Protocols
idGuides is dedicated to maintaining covid-19 protocols, and we ae especially careful during

2021, as more people are visiting Sentul than in previous years. Team idGuides Sentul guides are
temperature-screened each morning on a trek day, intermittently anti-gen-tested, always wear
masks and do their best to maintain safe distance while providing the necessary support you
need during your private hike. We offer sanitized trek poles at your trek start to allow you to be
independently-steady on trail.
If you feel that you are unwell / have a fever in the days before your private hike booking, we
kindly ask you to inform us as soon as possible that you will prefer to reschedule.

idGuides explore Sentul – 25 trails developed for You
Since 2009, we have developed 25 trails for all interests and abilities within the Ciherang,
Cileungsi, and Cibadak River watersheds, spanning the Mega Mendung hill range south of Jakarta.

Acacia Camp – Your hiking base and private hilltop camp.
Relax at Acacia Camp, idGuides’ hiking base and private hilltop camp in Sentul. You can select a
trail to start, or finish here, providing you the option to relax in the deep green and enjoy a fresh
mandi, taste our own local robusta coffee or sip on refreshing lemongrass tea.
You may also book Acacia Camp as a private camp, with freshly-washed high-quality camp-gear
supplied by idGuides, or you may bring your own. Ask our Bookings Team for details.

1. The Waterfall Trails Distance: 4-7 km Time: 2-5 hrs
Easy-Medium difficulty trails which specifically aim to visit the waterfalls around Sentul.
Ask our team for detailed trail profiles.
The waterfalls at Leuwi Asih (# 1 & # 2), Curug Love (# 3), Curug Luewi Hejo (#4) are relatively busy
nowadays with other non-idGuides visitors. We recommend that you book these trails on
weekdays. Start early morning so that you can enjoy these ahead of crowds.

2. Families & First-Timers Trails

Distance: 3-8 km Duration: 2-4 hrs
Easy-Medium trails, selected for beginner adults and young children.

Trail # 3 and # 8 are for fit families. With some ascending/descending.

3. The Ridge Trails
Distance: 5-18 km Time: 3-7 hours
Medium-Advanced difficulty. These are great trails for those who would like to seek wide skies
and get relatively off the beaten-track. Ask our team for detailed trail profiles.

4. The Acacia Camp Trails
Easy-Medium-Advanced difficulty. These trails specifically visit Acacia Camp, either at the start,
the finish, the start & finish (circuit) or mid-way. These are great trails for private groups with
varied abilities/ fitness levels, allowing those who want to shorten hike to rest at Camp, and for
private groups who are camping at Acacia Camp. those Ask our team for detailed trail profiles.

5. The Challenge Trails
Medium-Advanced difficulty. These are trails to challenge those who would like to build hill
fitness, endurance or move at speed over terrain (fastpacking). These trails tend to be more
remote and at times use several guides as a relay team to ensure clients can maintain their
desired pace. Ask our team for detailed trail profiles.

What does your price include:
1. “Team idGuides” Community Trail Guide (team) guide:visitor (1:3 Family Walk; 1:4
Half/Full Day Trails). idGuides Community Trail Guides who wear the “Blue T with Green
Trim” uniform” have/are:
a. a proven track record with idGuides (Seniors up to 10 years, Juniors 1-6 years)
b. child-protection-vetted (2019), compliant for working on international school expeditions through
idGuides (BSJ and JIS, annually since 2010)
c. temperature-monitored each day, possess a recent health check & certificate
d. Basic First Aid certified (Aug 2020 – trained by 4Life, member, British Safety Council).
e. The Sr Guide heading your private hike will carry a medical kit and a HT radio.
2. idGuides Bookings Team to help you prepare for, direct you to your meeting point, meet
your guides team and facilitate communication during your trek
3. idGuides Base Support to provide operational wilderness risk assessment (incl. weather
assessments and recommendation), real-time coordination with Team idGuides via
radio/phone and decision-making support to the field.
4. Acacia Camp facilities & refreshments (Aqua, Lemongrass / Black Tea, Coffee, Popcorn)
5. All local visitor entry payments (tickets to waterfalls, caves etc)
6. All local authority access permits (RT/RW, Desa, Babinsa, Polres, LMDH etc)
7. idGuides Trails for People & Planet Project IDR 50,000 contribution per person, our
sustainable development initiative which funds and maintains trails & bridges for wider
community and visitor use, sustainable landscapes and community development.
8. Parking fees for vehicle oversight at designated idGuides Trailheads partners.
9. Trekking pole, sanitized after each use
10. 10% PPN (tax)
* quoted prices is per person, incl. tax, based on private group booking of 5 or more.
For private bookings of 2-4 people, add Rp 50,000pp; For private bookings of 1 person, add Rp

1. Discuss your hike objectives with our Bookings Team and select a Trail.
You can ask our Bookings Team for details of each trail you are interested in. and select
a trail to suit your interests, capacity and fitness level of your private group. Let us know
your hike objectives, fitness and ability, whether you plan to arrive driving yourself, by
taxi or Grab/GoCar, or have a driver.
2. Submit your booking using this form here: idGuides explore - SENTUL - Booking Form
3. Bookings Team will confirm your booking and inform you of the amount to pay.
4. Transfer payment in full, latest 3 days in advance of your hike date. Inform us of your
payment, via email or wa, with attached transfer slip.
5. Upon receipt of your transfer slip, Bookings Team will provide you with:
• specific map link / details of your Sentul hike meeting point
• details of how to meet your guide on hike day
Payment Guidelines
To confirm your booking, we must receive your payment for all in your trek group.
Deadline for Payment in full by transfer is latest 3 days in advance of your trek day, by 3pm.

Terms & Conditions
1. Booking & Confirmation
Deadline for booking online and payment in full: latest 3 days in advance of your trek date
idGuides specializes in responsibly-run private guided hikes. We have a limited number of daily
slots available to ensure this standard for adventure ecotourism. Since our very first hike in 2009,
we maintain a 100% accident/incident-free record.
We take your – and our - safety very seriously.
“Responsibly-run” means that we need a reasonable lead time from the point of confirming your
booking to the date of your private hike - to ensure that:
1. idGuides private hike groups are distributed evenly amongst our trails (considering both
covid-19 protocols on trail and at Acacia Camp - physical distancing; and tourism carrying
capacity of the Sentul hiking area, which is increasingly busy during weekends.
2. availability of idGuides community trail guides so as to allocate sufficient number of

guides per private hike group, as per our high guides:clients ratio.
3. Availability of your preferred private hike date and time.
2. Rescheduling
In the event of bad weather

The idGuides Base Support team will assess weather conditions in the run-up to all trail
journeys. There are times that in it is sunny in Jakarta and raining in Sentul, and vice versa.
IF idGuides Base Support assesses that weather is not likely to be conducive for your trek, the
idGuides Bookings Team will inform you of this latest 10-12noon on the day before hike day.
In this case, we will recommend the following:
1. To hold your booking pending your reschedule, once, free of charge;

2. To cancel your trek and refund you 75%, within 3-7 working days.

If you decide to reschedule:

Please inform us of this ideally before 3pm the day before your hike, absolutely latest by 7pm.
This is to allow for us to re-allocate the guides to other wait-listed private bookings.
The deadline to book a reschedule private trek:

Latest 3 days in advance of intended trek day, by 3pm.
Reschedule valid one time only.
If you feel unwell and sincerely suspect it may be coronavirus (covid-19 protocols apply):
- and would like to reschedule – please contact us to discuss rescheduling.
- have been diagnosed with covid-19 – please contact us to inform us.
3. Cancellation
If you decide to cancel, or one person in your group decides to cancel:

Cancellation 3 Days before the trek: Company will refund 100 %
Cancellation 1 night before 7pm: Company will refund 50%
Cancellation on the morning of your hike/no-show: No refund.

What to Wear & Bring
Mandatory:
• Trail shoes/running trainers with good profile sole;

• Socks!
• Lightweight dri-fit trek / sports clothes (shorts, T-shirt). village-appropriate.
• Drinking Water & refillable bottle (1.5 litres per half day pp). Refills at Acacia Camp.
• Personal Snacks
• Personal medication (if required)
• Small daypack (two-shouldered rucksack/backpack, no sling bags please)
• Covid19-personal kit: Mask, Hand sanitizer.
Optional/Recommended:
• Hat/Cap (useful for sun and rain)

• Lightweight rain gear / poncho
• Personal Walking Poles, Camera
• Sunblock, Mosquito spray
• Towel, Change of clothes (for the car afterward)
• Plastic Bags to rain-proof cameras/phones, etc.

idGuides, our community trail guides and expedition leader development scheme, which trains
and record the professional experience of each community trail guide in the scheme.
