Now I am going to start off with a new subtopic which is transmission of tuberculosis

Before that I would like to introduce a new term for you all which is known as
mycobacterium bovis

Mycobacterium bovis is a bacterium that can be present in cattle and milk products

They remains alive for a long period in milk products

How does mycobacterium bovis being transmitted to human body?

When humans consume raw milk products (that are unpasteurised) ,there is a high
probability that ones will get infected and causes human tuberculosis. If cattle being
infected, the disease is known as bovine TB.

Milk products are pasteurised and subjected to ultra high temp

The difference btwn mycobacterium tuberculosis and mycobacterium bovis is that one only
can be present in human body and another one can be present in both human and domestic
animals.

Next ,PROCESS OF TRANSMISSION OF TUBERCULOSIS

When a tb-infected person cough, the droplets nuclei that contains tubercle bacilli are
expelled from the mouth of his or her and transmitted in the air.

After that, someone who is not infected will

Many people usually have the inactive form of tb in their lungs but they do not have the
diseases and will not spread it. Inactive bacteria can become active in people who are
malnourished and infected with HIV

PEOPLE WHO ARE AT A HIGHER RISK OF GETTING TB

Poor ventilation causes bacteria resist drying out and remains survive in the air and home
dust for long periods

Sometimes,a good circulation of air doesn’t guarantee that no transmission of tubercle

bacilli will occur.

Overcrowded space or living conditions will lead to higher probability of getting tb disease
because for example labourers that sleep together in a closer proximities will cause
transmission of tubercle bacilli occur more easily
Poor nutrition means ones lack of nutrition, vitamin causes their immune system to be
weakened and increase the risk of contracting disease.

Improper specimen handling procedures will also generate infectious droplet nuclei

How does TB spread in cattle?

Infected animals spread the disease mainly through coughing and sneezing.
Bacteria are released into the air and inhaled by other animals in close
contact. The disease can also be spread: from infected cows to their
offspring during suckling and, much more rarely, in the womb.
