In conclusion

This structure as suggested by vendor 1 has several members failing when designed to
recommended loading according to BS 5950. Structures like should be designed to withstand some
external forces which the structure might not be subjected to during its use, but in the case of such
external force, structures that are adequately designed for it will be able to withstand the forces.

When the basic roof load of 0.6Kn/m2 and wind load of 36m/s was applied with a load combination
of 1.2 for wind load and 1.4 without wind load, as recommended by the code the proposed structure
was unable to withstand the external forces. Even when wind speed was reduced to 15m/s as is
expected in the proposed location, the members where still incapable of bearing the design loads.

In addition to above, the structure even has worse member failure when modelled to the original
NWP layout which is different from what has been modified and modelled here.
