Title: Blended Learning Era: Pros and Cons of its Effectivity to the Overall Performance of

Bacolorians during Pandemic Season

INTRODUCTION
According to Eoghan Quigley (2019) If you’re familiar with eLearning in any way,

there’s no doubt you’ll have heard about blended learning. It’s is a concept that has risen in

popularity over the last few years, with its advantages being lauded by eLearning professionals

and learners alike. Blended learning is being use in Philippines now during pandemic because it

is the only way to continue the study of the students.

According to Chang Zhu & Edmond Kagambe (2017) The introduction of blended

learning (combination of face-to-face and online teaching and learning) initiatives is part of these

innovations but its uptake, especially in the developing world faces challenges for it to be an

effective innovation in teaching and learning. Blended learning effectiveness has quite a number

of underlying factors that pose challenges. Blended learning is effective during pandemic season

because of how it works you don't need to have contact to other people just to go to school.

Modular and online class is the form they are using to learn during pandemic season in

Philippines

According to Staken horn (2021). The definition of Blended learning is an approach to

education that combines online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online

with traditional place-based classroom methods. It requires the physical presence of both teacher

and student, with some elements of student control over time, place, path, or pace. It is also a

mix of face to face or what we call as traditional learning and Online distance learning, and a

modular distance learning or the new normal education.

According to Emma García and Elaine Weiss (2020) The COVID-19 pandemic is having

an effect on the administration and outcomes of education systems, some of which were already

overwhelmed in many ways. This is true throughout the world and impacts all children to

varying degrees based on a variety of factors, including the country/region in which they live, as

well as their ages, family backgrounds, and level of access to various "substitute" educational

alternatives during the pandemic.

According to Joey Mark Diaz (2021) The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

pandemic has significantly changed the Philippines' higher education system, with a noticeable

shift in online instruction in an effort to avoid further virus transmission. Many teachers and

students were concerned about the sudden shift to online learning because a major portion of the

population had poor internet access and limited electronic gadgets.

According to Larry Ferlazzo (2020) Blended learning is becoming the new normal as

schools around the world adapt in response to COVID-19. Blended learning, which combines

traditional face-to-face instruction with features of online instruction while students remain in the

classroom with the teacher, has been around for a while. Blended learning endeavors to provide

students with the best of both face-to-face and online learning experiences. Face-to-face training

strategies such as direct instruction or lecture, group discussions, and small-group work are used

in blended classrooms, while technology is used to deliver in-class online learning that students

can perform at home if they have access to the relevant resources.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This research wants to identify the Overall Performance of Bacolorians During Pandemic

Season for the first semester of the academic year 2021-2022. The result of this survey will be
the basis in knowing their performance during the pandemic of the Bacolorian Students. To learn

efficiently and also effectively to embellish competitive among others. Especially, it seeks to

answer the following:

1. What is demographic profile of the students in Bacolorian Students in terms of:

a. Gender; and

b. Age?

2. What is the definition of Blended Learning Era?

3. What will be your solutions to the students who can't adopt easily to this blended

learning?

4. How confident you are that in researching the pros and cons of blended learning can help

the education system in the Philippines.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The result of the study will be great benefit to the following:

Students. This paper is beneficial to students because they will be conducting research as well.

Also, students will gain knowledge about Overall Performance of Bacolorians during the

Pandemic season.

Teacher. This study aims to provide insight into students’ perspective on the Overall

Performance of Bacolorians during the Pandemic season.

Parents. The parents will be able to know their children's profile on their academic performance

and will be able to coordinate with the teachers to improve and miximize the capacity their

parental guidance
Future Researcher. This study aims to provide more information and insight for readers who

kust prioritize their research papers. It could be good place to look for similar publications. Also

knowing how to deal with this research in a step by step strategy is helpful.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The General intent of this study is to know the Pros and Cons of Blended Learning to the

students of Bacolor High School with the focus on students effectivity in overall performance

during pandemic season. It involved the Bacolorians students of BACOLOR HIGH SCHOOL at
