Usamos GOING TO para decisiones que ya se han tomado y planes que se harán
en el futuro.

1. Advertencias: usamos GOING TO para advertencias o conclusiones seguras

a partir de indicios.

Look at those clouds! It is going to rain. (¡Mira esas nubes! va a llover)

You are going to fall if you aren't careful! (¡Te vas a caer si no tienes cuidado!)

2. Planes e intenciones: usamos GOING TO para decisiones que ya se han

tomado, planes o intenciones firmes.

I am going to study at Cambridge University.

My father is going to buy a hybrid car.

Estructura Going to

Affirmative

Se forma usando el To be, el auxiliar GOING TO y el verbo en infinitivo (sujeto + to be

[is, am, are] + going to + verbo + complemento)

I am going to buy a new house

My dad is going to build a barbecue

am / is / are going to infinitivo

Negative

Se forma usando el To be, el auxiliar GOING TO, el Not y el verbo en infinitivo (sujeto
+ to be [is, am, are] + Not + going to + verbo + complemento)

I am not going to buy a new house

My dad is not going to build a barbecue

am / is / are + not going to infinitivo

Interrogative

Se forma usando primero el To be, el auxiliar GOING TO y el verbo en infinitivo (to be

[is, am, are] + sujeto + going to + verbo + complemento + ?)

Are you going to buy a new house? Yes, I am.

No, I am not (No, I’m not)

Is my dad going to build a barbecue? Yes, he is.

No, he isn’t
