The project proposal is written either individually or in teams of 2 students.

A research idea will be proposed for implementation. It is ideal that the chosen topic is related either
to one of the directions of the master’s program, or to the dissertation themes or the domain of
activity of the ‘project members’

C. Project description and engineering
In this section there will be indicated, in detail, the context, the objectives, the applicability, the
methods of investigation and the outputs

C1. Concept
There will be justified the motivation of the project theme by delimiting the issue addressed in the
context of the state of the art in the scientific field. There will be highlighted the following three issues:
(1) the importance of the issue from scientific or socio-economic point of view; (2) the elements of
difficulty of the issue; (3) overview of the current approaches by analyzing the state of the art of the
knowledge related to the project topic.

C2. Objectives
The following aspects will be addressed: (1) the general objective of the project will be formulated (2)
the specific objectives of the project will be mentioned; (3) the elements of originality and innovation
that the implementation of the objectives brings to the field, in relation to the state of the art
described in the previous section, to the previous and current work fields and research directions of
the applicants, and to the projects where the applicants were involved (if the case)

C3. Expected impact


There will be discussed (1) the potential impact of the project in the scientific and socio-economic
environments and (2) the applicability of the directions to be explored within the project

C4. Methodology
There will be presented in detail the methodology of the approach, stating, where possible, certain key
intermediate goals. In elaborating this section there will be highlighted the following aspects: (1)
choosing the methods and instruments of investigation, in relation to the existing approaches from
the theme field, (2) description of the outputs; (3) description of the potential risks and the responses
through which these risks would be addressed.

D. Work plan

The work plan, spread in time, will describe the organization and planning of the project in correlation
with the objectives and outputs described in Section C. The project activities will be clearly defined in
relation with their duration and implementation interval, and will be synthesized in a Gantt chart.
The project duration is minimum 12 months - maximum 24 months. The starting date is June 2021.
E. Resources and budget management

The maximum total budget of the project is 50000 €. The types of expenses that are distributed in the
budget are: personnel (salaries), logistics, travel and indirect expenses (overhead). The budget
breakdown by types of expenses and its planification by project years will be indicated and justified.
There will be presented the relevant existing resources for the project implementation, as well as the
necessary resources, which will be procured within the project. By default, it is assumed that the host
institution provides a PC-equipped office workstation for each member of the project’s team. The
additional infrastructure of the host institution (if any), which can be accessed to support the proposed
research activities will be described. The acquisition of new equipment will be justified with its role
within the project.
The travel costs may include, but are not limited to, visiting periods to other institutions (outside the
city of the host institution) and participation to conferences.
The overhead goes to the host institution and represents 20% of the direct costs (personnel,
acquisitions and travels).
