04 ACTIVITY 1- ARG

Imagine the year is 1876. You work for a leading bank. Your boss comes to you
with a deceptively simple question: “Alexander Graham Bell has developed a way to
transmit voice over a wire. What does this mean?”

1. How would you react? Given that you were born in the era of advanced technology; that
your situation is far different from the people living in the 1870s.

My reaction would be a mix of surprise and delight. Because, instead of

telegraphs, letters, and other forms of communication, telecommunication will improve
after all this time. Because communications is a crucial tool for enterprises. It enables us
to efficiently engage with our customers and provide excellent customer service.
Furthermore, telecommunication has been a significant part in allowing employees to
interact effortlessly from wherever they are located, whether they are remote or local,
since the 1870s.

People can send and receive information all across the world because to
Alexander Graham Bell's innovation, which has aided the development of countries and
towns all around the world. The message will be exchanged more quickly as a result of
telecommunication.

2. How will Bell’s innovation affect other communications company?

Bell's invention has an impact on other communications companies through

influencing technological advancements in financial services. The telephone's impact on
banking was evolutionary rather than revolutionary at first. The telephone banking
system is now operational. However, the rate of change in the ease with which banks
interact and transact with customers throughout the world has been tremendous since
then.

However, if we are talking about Bell's time, the innovation will have an impact on
other communications companies. Because Bell's invention surpassed the capabilities of
a telegraph, what will happen is that wealthy individuals and large corporations will now
primarily use Bell's invention as a means of communication between specific locations.

Because, thanks to technological advancements, our phones have evolved into

mobile computers. They've changed the way people live and how banks interact with
their consumers. Smartphones are the new bank branches for consumers. They're the
new credit cards: a whole new way to shop, save, and invest. They are also having a
hugely favorable impact on the development of underdeveloped societies all over the
world.
