Matter

-volume and mass

What makes up matter? Have you tried to pound a rock, forming fined sand? Can you further grind the
sand into the smaller particles? Sand is matter.

Matter is made up of the indivisible particles called ATOMS. When atoms combine with one another to
make up MOLECULES. Molecules behave differently in solid, liquid, and gas states.

Always remember that matter is divided into PURE SUBSTANCES AND MIXTURE

Pure substances- is a form of matter with uniform composition and constant properties all throughout.
( There is no other particles, one type of atoms only, same size and same properties)

Examples of pure substances are silver sodium carbon dioxide sugar and salt

Mixture- is form of matter composed of two or more different substances that are physically combined.
(for example, we have a Sugar solution, so our sugar solution is composed of sugar molecules c6,
H12,O6 + water molecules H2O it means that this Sugar solution is made up of two types of molecules.
So it have different sizes, different properties, so we have physically combined our dissolved sugar in the
water to form a solution, so our sugar solution is not a pure substance, it is a MIXTURE. another example
of mixture is salad-dressing, 3-in-1 coffee, and haluhalo.
