Printing Money
BS Pharmacy 2B GEC TCW

The Philippine Government can't just print more money through the Bangko Sentral ng
Pilipinas to increase Filipino’s wealth simply because our resources are limited. If we print money, our
workers or producers who provide our resources such as our daily needs and wants, they will be
demotivated since they know that they will have a lot of money from the Philippine Government and
eventually they will stop doing their job and they will become consumers instead of producers who
supposedly increasing our economy.
If we have less producers, our resources will be lessened, and the fact that there will be more
consumers, our resources will decrease rapidly. There will be a lot of out of stocks from stores,
markets, and malls since there are a lot of consumers who have a lot of money that can easily buy
anything without looking at the price. The owners of the markets, stores and malls will start increasing
the price of their products and services to the point that only few people can buy those, this is what
we call inflation. According to Investopedia, inflation is the rate at which the value of a currency is
falling and, consequently, the general level of prices for goods and services is rising. Long term
effects of printing money can have severe negative impact in our economy since there’s sudden huge
increase at our inflation rate, and our economy will keep declining as time goes by, and we will realize
that a million peso that we have now that we desire before is the same value as a hundred or
thousand peso before we start printing money.
In conclusion, we shouldn’t print money to increase our wealth because if we do, it will create a
negative domino effect as mentioned above. Instead, we should focus at the moment where we
should strive and persevere to get what we need and want in our life. We should balance the number
of producers and consumers since it is the best way to improve our economy and eventually, we will
rise from poverty. It’s a lesson for us that nothing comes for free or easy in life.
