Here is my unforgettable experience. One month ago, I joined a story telling contest.
Two of my friends and I had been chosen to take part in the final round at the district level. I
was very happy and eager to win the competition.
For preparation, I had to memorize and understand the story well. My teacher guided
and taught me pronunciation, facial expression and gestures. One day, before performing, my
friends and I were busy to prepare the props and costumes for the competition. Thing that
made me sad was my teacher rented the props and costumes for my friends but not for me. My
two friends had beautiful costumes and luxurious props. Although I just wore the simple ones, I
performed my best to win the competition.
The competition started. I got number 29 and my friends got number 5 and 10. I
nervous but I showed my best performance on stage. Lots of people took photos and videos of
me. Finally, anxiety was gone after I had finished performing. And then, the announcement
came which made three of is very uneasy. Luckily I was chosen as the first winner. I went to the
stage and all the judges congratulated me and gave a plague, trophy, and money. I was very
happy.

Solar energy is one great alternative for future energy source. It is
environmentally friendly, thus making it an excellent energy source.
According to the United States Environmental Agency (EPA), the sunlight which
reaches the earth surface every year produces approximately1,000 times the amount of
energy produced by burning all fossil fuels mined and extracted during the same time
period.
As with most renewable energy system, the initial cost of setting up these solar
energy project is quite expensive. However, the savings on electricity bills in the long-
term should make up for this and year after year, the costs of this solar energy are
falling which will make it more affordable and widespread.
Solar energy will also be powering some 70,000homes and several hundred
businesses in Britain soon after the government announced a 10 million investment into
photovoltaic(PV) technologies over the next three years.
Photovoltaic cells provide an unlimited supply of free power by converting the
sunlight into electricity using modern semiconductors. Vast arrays of these cells will be
place on roofs walls around the country to provide buildings with a renewable source of
energy for lighting, heating, and storage.
Street lighting and traffic signal also benefit from this power supply. Further, it
reduces our dependence on fossil fuels and nuclear energy.

Online School Registration System Frustrates Mamelodi Parents Gauteng/10 January 2020,

In 2016, the department introduced an online registration process for grade one and
eight pupils, but many parents have claimed that the system is ineffective. The Gauteng
education Department still has 58 000 pupils to place into schools.
The new registration system requires parents to fill in their information on a portal,
which allows school to accept or decline a pupils admission. Parents were meant to get SMSes
by Monday and they said they are still waiting. The frustrated parents were pushing for the old
walk –in system.
We think things were better back then because we didn’t have to deal with such things,
the old system was effective ,” said one of the parents, Maria Rantho. Rantho, 26, said she
applied for her daughter in April, but until now nothing has happened.
“this is frustrating because we haven’t bought uniforms, we don’t even know the school
where our children will be placed “, Rantho said.
The parents have vowed to continue with the protest and close down schools if the
situation is not immediately addressed. Meanwhile, more frustrated parents have been
queuing at district offices in Soweto since the early hours of Monday morning.
The department said its systems were offline for the festive season, but were back
online from Monday. It claimed the backlog was due to late registrations, but they promised
that every child would be placed.
